Description
Founded in 2013, toxic brew company was the first craft brewery to open in the city of Dayton, OH in 52 years.

We’re Proudly Located in the middle of Dayton’s historic Oregon District, the heart of entertainment, retail and arts in Dayton.

We make a wide range of beer styles. We brew a large core roster year round of over a dozen ales, from multiple IPAs, to blonde and kolsch ales, red and amber ales, and multiple Belgian ales(including Abby XXXX Belgian quad, which won a gold medal at the King of Ohio beer competition in 2018). We also feature many seasonal and specialty ales throughout the year; smooth drinking Hatless Bastard Irish stout in the spring; key lime flavored Uno Mas Mexican style lager in the summer; roasted butternut squash/apple cider spiced Toxic Harvest ale in the fall; the juicy hop bomb of ISO-Hell imperial IPA in the winter. Just to name a few. Pick your poison. Cheers.

Draft at Jackie O’s Brewpub, 7/14/14. Pours a hazy dark reddish brown color with no head. Aroma of huge bourbon notes, vanilla, chocolate. The taste is vanilla, whiskey, raisin and wood. Full bodied, low carbonation, hot and too much barrel character.

Draft at the brewpub. Poured a slightly hazy yellow color with a medium sized white head. Aroma was notes of citra, light sweet malts. Flavor was nice citrus notes, touch bitter resin notes, light sweet malt character. Almost sessionable, though perhaps still a bit too strong. However, it was still pretty refreshing for the last beer of the night.

4oz taster at the brewpub. Poured a slightly cloudy orange color with a medium sized white head. Aroma was some pretty intense orange character, like fresh squeezed orange juice. Flavor was nice light citra notes, a touch sweetness. Creamy, smooth body - creates a pleasant experience. Alcohol pretty well masked in this one, as all their other beers I’ve had.

8oz draft at the source. Poured a slightly hazy light orange/yellow - not quite amber color with a medium sized white head. Aroma was light sweet malts, grains, with a touch of spices. Flavor was a touch of crisp malts, light citrus - nothing overly complicated - easy to drink though.

Split a pint with my dad at the brewpub. Poured a slightly hazy, mostly opaque brown color, looks like black from a distance, but edges tell a different story. Aroma was lightly roasted malts, a touch of chocolate and a nice, almost sweet coffee note. Flavor had a nice, completely non-bitter light coffee roast, with a touch of sweet chocolate. Medium body - not overly thick, not thin. This was a nice sipper through the evening and could easily be mistaken for being a sessionable beer.

4oz draft pour at the source. Poured a slightly brown, cola color with a quickly dissipating head. Aroma was notes of light spice - some clove, sweet malts. Flavor was sweet, lightly toasted malt character. A touch of candi sugar and a little bit of booze. Though you can taste and feel the abv - it’s surprisingly easy, perhaps dangerously easy, to drink.

Sample at the brewpub. Clear amber color with a medium thin off-white head that diminishes quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of sweet malt, grain and hops. Thin body for the style, with flavors of grainy malt, caramel and slight piney hops. The finish is syrupy with a malt and yeast aftertaste. Below average overall.
