500ml Bottle (Thanks Omhper) - Amber in colour. Mandarin, grapefruit, mango and a faint hint of ginger in the aroma. Tangy, hoppy, zesty and fruity taste with grapefruit, mango, orange, apricot and peach standing out. Punchy and full of flavour yet nicely balanced.

Draught @ Bar Cameral, Koper, Slovenia. Pours slightly hazy golden with an offwhite head. Aroma of malt, fresh fruity hops, peach, mango, some bitter citrus, orangepeel. Flavor is light sweet, malt, fruity hops, peach. Medium body, average carbonation, light bitter finish. 100816

Pours orange from the bottle. Lots of visible sediment. A tropical boquet greets the nose: mango, pineapple, tangerine. The taste has a peppery, spicy note with strong citrus flavors. Medium body, zesty, prickly. Fairly high level of carbonation. Finish is dry, with a restained bitterness. Good drinking.

Pours red from the bottle and leaves a decent creamy head that lingers. Aroma is citrus, grapefruit, much like the Pelicon Quantum DIPA. However the similarities lessen with the taste. The pineapple is present, albeit thinner and watered down in comparison to the more robust DIPA. Maracuja is noticeable, but so is a cardboard note that arises during the swill and carries through the finish. Overall I found myself losing interest in the brew as I progressed. Would drink it if offered, but would not buy this Pelicon brew again.

Pours dark copper from the bottle. Opaque. Lots of visible lacing and a creamy head round out the optic. Aroma is loads of citrus. The caramel scents remain almost hidden behind the tropical boquet. Taste is pineapple, grapefruit, peppery spice. The spice takes over in the finish, which is dry, warming, and refreshing all at the same time. Full bodied and robust. Someone in Slovenia has been doing their homework. This is an excellent (d)ipa and worlds away from the Union and Laska Pivos that dot most of the shelves here. Excellent.

Pours black with a tan, creamy head that lingers. Lots of roasted malt notes evident in the aroma, but also warm sweet cream and hints of coffee. The coffee plays itself out with more assertiveness in the taste. However the taste is also marked by a prolonged candy sourness that is, for my taste, just a touch too dominant. In the finish the balance returns, with the sourness subsidingly gently behind the coffee bitterness and strong roasted notes. Overall a pleasant if slightly flawed diversion.
