Description
At DESTIHL, we brew more styles of beer because we have a passion for brewing & because you have a passion for unique, craft beers. Cheers!
DESTIHL was founded on the promise of supporting flavor and boycotting bland. We're an independent, production brewery that was established in 2013 in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois to brew beyond the confines of typical beers. Our team combines centuries-old global brewing traditions and new American craft brewing ingenuity & artisanship to produce a wide array of beers for every palate. We brew more styles of beer because we have a passion for brewing and because you have a passion for unique, craft beers. The result is a diverse offering of intensely flavorful beers that are anything but bland, from our award-winning WiLD SOUR Series, barrel-aged Saint Dekkera® Reserve Sour Ales and Dosvidanya® Russian Imperial Stout, to our many Belgian-style beers, IPA's, other wood-aged beers, classic styles and exciting seasonals. DESTIHL has become a brand, but we have not strayed from our roots. We take pride in our values and will continue to grow and support our local community. We promise to deliver on these uncompromising beliefs. Every beer we brew is unique. So, whether you share it or hoard it, we hope you enjoy it. After all, you deserve it.

Sample at GABF 10/11/2012, thanks to Bluemeow76 for assistance with note-taking. The beer is a hazy golden color with a medium white head and a top ring of lace. Aroma of tropical fruits and malt. Medium-bodied and moderately sour with flavors of pineapple and grainy malt. The finish is fruity with a citrus and tropical fruit aftertaste. Decent overall.

On tap in Denver for GABF 2012. Pours a pure black color with a medum tan head. A big roasted nose with some barrel. The flavor is a sweet barrel with vanilla and cocoa, balanced by big roasted malts and lighter dark fruit. Very good!

GABF 2012. One of my favorites at GABF. Pours a fairly clear yellow appearance with a white head. Fairly tart lemon, a touch funky nose. Just a bit salty taste that is mostly dominated by a tasty, barnyard funky, a bit oaky, citrusy flavor. I likey.
