DESTIHL was founded on the promise of supporting flavor and boycotting bland. We're an independent, production brewery that was established in 2013 in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois to brew beyond the confines of typical beers. Our team combines centuries-old global brewing traditions and new American craft brewing ingenuity & artisanship to produce a wide array of beers for every palate. We brew more styles of beer because we have a passion for brewing and because you have a passion for unique, craft beers. The result is a diverse offering of intensely flavorful beers that are anything but bland, from our award-winning WiLD SOUR Series, barrel-aged Saint Dekkera® Reserve Sour Ales and Dosvidanya® Russian Imperial Stout, to our many Belgian-style beers, IPA's, other wood-aged beers, classic styles and exciting seasonals. DESTIHL has become a brand, but we have not strayed from our roots. We take pride in our values and will continue to grow and support our local community. We promise to deliver on these uncompromising beliefs. Every beer we brew is unique. So, whether you share it or hoard it, we hope you enjoy it. After all, you deserve it.

Sampled from the growler on the opening night of RBSG thanks to Adam! Poured black with a medium brown head that seemed to had a slight red hue and dissipated to the edges. Aroma had a clear cherry note that melded nicely with the notes of dark chocolate and dark bread with just a hint of underlying caramel. Flavor had much more powerful tart cherries that overwhelm the dark chocolate and dark grains a bit.

From a growler shared by Adam on the bus down to the Michigan Summer Beer Fest. Poured a cloudy gold with a white head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma was full of banana and clove with a bit of spice and wheat lying underneath. Flavor was more wheat with the clove and spice growing towards the finish.

Pour is a dark black with a small foamy tan head. Aroma is of toffee and anise with some caramel and a bit of alcohol. Flavor is complete raisin juice! They really hit the spot on dark fruityness in this one. Finish is a bit bitter and again the alcohol makes an appearance. This is a very tasty and well made rep of the style but i’m not sure how much of this i could really drink in one sitting.

Pour is a golden with a large fizzy head. Aroma is ok with some bready malts and a nice fresh picked strawberry. Flavor is rather dull with a biscuit malt and a ever so faint amount of the strawberry. This is the second beer i’v had made from strawberries and in both the fruit just does not come to the fore front. Oh well this brewer makes outstanding other beers.

Pour is a dark murky brown with a big white head. Aroma is dough and yeast with some distinct hops. Flavor is very tart and citrus. They really went with the coriander with this one. Finish has some funk and mustyness but it is pretty light since this one is mosty about the citrus. Decent enough to try once.

Pour is a dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is earthy with a nice dash of clove and banana. Flavor is big caramel malts with some spice and cinnamon. A different kind of beer but it works quite well.

Pour is a cloudy brown with a large tan head. Aroma is big time molasses with a touch of banana. Flavor is decent as well with a nice spice to it with a nice chocolate malt quality. A very tasty beer.
