Description
Privately owned since 1809, the Ochsenfurter Kauzen-Bräu stands for traditional Franconian brewing culture. The brewery was not always called Kauzen Bräu. It was not until 1974 that the Ochsenfurt monastery brewery was renamed the Kauzen Brewery.

[9/22/16] Bottle sample at Pre-Borefts RateBeer Tasting at ABC Beers in Den Haag. Thanks everyone for sharing bottles! Yellow with a white head. Aroma of DMS, butter, graininess. Sweetish flavor, slightly bitterish finish. Light-bodied, a bit of diacetyl in the mouthfeel.

Bottle shared at Pre-Borefts Ratebeer Tasting 2016. Clear golden with a white head. Aroma of corn, grain and wort. But mostly corn. Flavour is light sweet and bitter. Light bodied with light carbonation. [22-09-2016]

Thank you Koelschtrinker. 2000 ml. (aka standard German serving size) bottle sampled @ Pre-Borefts Ratebeer Tasting 2016. Pale clear golden, little white head. Nose is vegetable, oily, cheap cardboard, poor lager, oily, low corn. Taste is watery, vegetable, almost skunky, oily, dirty water, reminiscent of a cheap EU lager, hop seems to have taken a vacation. Oily & watery body,… Poor.

Bottle. Hazy golden color with white head. Aroma is corn, some earthy hops. Taste is more corn, quite boring. Medium carbonation. Meh.

Bottle at the pre-Borefts tasting, Den Haag, 2016. Poured a clear straw colour with a thin broken white head. The aroma is light hope bitter, malt. The flavour is light bitter with light watery light citrus light hop bitter palate. Light bodied with average carbonation.

Bottle 500ml. @ after Tasting - Danish (Ulfborg) Ratebeer Summer Gathering 2016, TNO(U)DRBSG16 @ fonefan & Brugmasia House. [ As Bräu Wirts Radler ].Clear light yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, pale malt, light moderate lemon, lime, artificial, light soapy. Flavor is light moderate sweet with a average duration, sugar, pale malt, sweet malt, lemon. Body is medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. [20160821]
