Welcome to Cardigan Brewery, a union of Penlon Beers & Innkeeper Wales, creating great Welsh beers that can be enjoyed at home, from a range of great shops across the land, or at the pub, including our very own Teifi Waterside Hotel or Brynhoffnant Inn.
Started brewing in October 2004 initially as Penlon Cottage Brewery. It is a small scale operation which brews are range of bottle conditions beers. It was initially based near Pencae moving to its location in 2015. In 2020 they merged with Innkeeper Wales and changed to the current name although Penlon Cottage Brewery is still used.

500ml Bottle - Dark brown with a tan head. Roasted aroma with chocolate and a hint of coffee. Fairly bitter and roasted taste with plain chocolate and malt featuring followed by a bitter and roasted finish.

Bottle, Madame Fromage, Cardiff. Deep dark brown colour with a light brown head. Aroma was roasty malt, chocolate and a hint of coffee. Flavour was milky and quite soft, with dark chocolate. Body was lacking slightly. Finished dry. Good not great.

50 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a fully gone head. Light hoppy and mild bitter initial aroma with a light bitterness showing through. Mild fruity flavour again with a nice bitterness coming through. Light bodied. Lasting bitter finish.

50 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a small diminished white head. Mild hoppy and fruity aroma with a mild spice note. Mild bitterness and light fruity note in a rather vague blend. A bit watery. Light acidic and bitter finish, thin but also rather dry.

50 cL bottle. Pours hazy orange with a lacing white head. Mild citric and hoppy aroma. Light infection that doesnt appear in the flavour. Light yeasty ad mild fruity from hops aswell. Medium sweet and light bitter into the finish. Light acidic orange fruity finish.

50 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with a rim of and a light brown head. Aroma is dark roasted malty with a mild chocolate note. Hard roasted malty and mild acidic chocolate base flavour is solid acidic note. Lingering acidic and roasted malty finish. Nice one

Bottled. A dark brown beer with no head. The aroma is very sweet with notes of roasted malt and hints of soy sauce. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt lending it a slight acidicy, but also with a weird fruit and prune note.

Bottled. An unclear golden beer with no head. The aroma is sweet with an edge of burnt plastic. The flavor is sweet malty with primary notes of caramel as well as lighter notes of fruit and burnt plastic, leading to a dry and sweet finish with a light note of fruit carrying thru.

Bottled. An unclear golden beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet with notes of citrus and hops as well as a light accent of malt. The flavor is sweet with primary notes of yeast, but also light notes of malt and citrus fruits. The body is thin.

Bottled. An unclear amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet with citrusy notes of hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of yeast, over ripe fruit, citrus, and light notes of straw, leading to a dry finish with notes of straw and some citrus. A weird lager.
