Well I take issue with the idea of a "downtown" in Grand Prairie... there are merely some sections of town with buildings slightly higher than others. Embrace your rurality, GPers! I mean, you ain’t Edmonchucks nor anythingz and there’s not anything wrongz with that. This is another 355ml can - not found in Edmonton by the by, they’z just not got the whole pictures on the whole deal of craft beer in northern Albertas I tells you. It’s got great head, really solid stuff, and a slightly foggy copper for a body that is not bad at all. The aroma is a lot of sweet hazelnut, very new-world kinda beer with those refined characteristics but still well done. Flavour is certainly a honey finish over top of malts that are trending towards watery. I dunno, it’s certainly not awful and is well made but doesn’t stand out.

What the world needs is another lager, no actually not, but so far these guys seems to haves some decent game going on so I’d say let them do their thang, maybe a few of them douchebags ’round Grand Prairie in the o’ersized F350s will drink this and become just a leetle more civilized. Like seriously folks, the traffic sucks in said town.... how can a farmer in a truck the size of Luxembourg be in a rush is beyond me. Anyways I tried, poured it somewhat warm (10c) and the head revealed something okay, decent as Bubbles would say, bubbles too on the body and some yellow body. Good lager smell to this - I tend to think of lager aromas in negatives, but this is appetizing, crisp, a bit of hops and well refined (the alternative being urine-soaked cardboard; I’m sure we’ve all smelt that kind). Flavour is unintrusive with little in the way of complexity nor offensiveness; a good lager indeed. A bit of a hoppy bite on the back end. Lagers tend to get a great deal of scorn in these here craft beer hallows but this one delivers well - and would be a pleasure to get drunk with. Here’s hoping it’s the new getting-wasted liquid of Grande Prairie.

Little head and golden body, some bubbles coming up for what it’s worth. Soft grain cereal aroma but not prominent. Oh yah, I didn’t chill this to any extent, my house is 10c so it’s gotta be ’round that temp. Flavour is appetizing in fact - some wheat, some citrus, balanced cereal notes and smooth grain. Like a farm I dun says. Something you’d wanna drink from Grande Prairie. Not bad at all.

So some Grande Prairiaeans (Gp’uns? Idunno) have certainly done their homework on the beer front cuz this pour is dayummed good, nice head and golden body and all that. Of course they are in the middle of Canajun grain country so perhaps they are born knowing about the fermentation of what’s on their farms. The aroma is cereal, hints of lemon, light grains drifting toward lager-ness but not quite there. Flavour is more cereal and it’s tasty to be sure but doesn’t transcend. Not enough going on here, but I could still drink 12 - 36 of them without complaining. Fo sho.

355ml can. Poured chilled but not too chilled, this has an okay white head and copper body with modest head. Aroma has some hops but not overbearing, lots of lager notes in there but not in a bad way. Flavour is a lot of malt and a hint of hazelnut with a hoppy finish. Not so much a straight-up hardcore IPA like I’m used to seeing around but a lot of other notes as well, which makes it more unique. Not a bad drink, easily found in Grande Prairie but not sure how much further afield they will start shipping their cans.
