Description
In 1890 the Companhia União Fabril Portuense das Fábricas de Cerveja e Bebidas Refrigerantes (CUFP) was founded in Porto. In 1926 Super Bock beer was introduced and received a trademark in 1927. In 1975, after the Carnation Revolution in 1974, the Portuguese brewing industry was nationalised. There followed a period of restructuring of the sector. In 1977 CUFP was transformed into Unicer - União Cervejeira E.P. The 1980s marked the change of Unicer E.P. to Unicer S.A., with the company moving from the public to the private sector. In 2017 Unicer became the Super Bock Group.

Medium, white, coarse-laced head, which quickly shrinks. Pale yellow body with ongoing carbonation. Faint sweetish aroma with notes of smoke (uh?!?) and vegetables. Taste is straw and strong grassy hops with fruity notes. Bitter metal aftertaste. For an industrial lager, this has some character, but it’s not really that good; the hops are definitely the best part.

(Bottle 33 cl) Clear mahogany with a warm, orangey glow and a creamy, beige head. Aroma of roasted malt. Rather light-bodied with a distinct character from the roasted malt leaving a lightly burned sensation on my palate, while a caramelish sweetness surfaces in the finish. Not much bitterness. Quite soft and pleasant. 201205

Bottled. A bit hazy golden colour, big cramy white head. Kind of sweet fruity nose. Lemony flavour with dry finish. Some sour hints also there. Some soapy hints. Sweetish sour fruity aftertaste. Not that wheatbeerish, or maybe it’s just very different...

Bottled. Dark ruby red colour, beige mediumsized head. Hayish a bit sweet nose. Flavour is rubbery with some dry hayish hints in finish. Unpleasantly sweet flavour too.

Bottled. Golden colour, mediumsized foamy head. Strong malty hayish nose. Flavour is watery with weak hints of sweet malts. Surprisingly little "typical N/A" flavour towards other non alcos. Sweet vegetably hoppy aftertaste.

Interesting - the first Portuguese wheat beer. Dark, orange - a bit hazy color, decent creamy head. Wheat, banana, leather, caramel in the nose - not 100% in the clean form. Sourish, lemony, wheatish. Not solid, but drinkable.

Dark ruby color, good tan head. Rubbery, a bit sweet aroma. Dark syrup and rubber flavors, not much to do with normal Portuguese "preta".

Golden color, small white head. Ryeisih, rubbery nose. Reasonably malty, a bit hoppy too. Some typical rubbery n/a beer side flavors, but ok 0% beer, even a bit tasty I would say. Watery finish.
