Description

Originally the Sailerbrauerei was mentioned in a document for the first time in 1544. After a long history 1967 is considered to be the decisive point in the history of the brewery. In that year the master brewer Gerd Borges and his then wife Gertrud, née. Sailer took over the management of the brewery and made the brewery a great success. After 36 years Borges decided to sell the enterprise. Since 2003 Sailerbräu and the brand Altenmünster Brauer Biere became through the Allgäuer Brauhaus part of the Radeberger Gruppe.

50cl swingtop bottle from a friend. Decent white head. Clear amber pour. Nice refreshing dunkel. I was expecting something heavier for a winter beer.

50cl Swingtop bottle from De Bierkoning. Clear dark amber brown colour, off white head. Aroma of cocoa, nuts, a bit of stale hops, grain, some caramel. Flavour is light sweet, nutty bitter, light malty, cocoa, light grainy, papery hops, bitter finish. Light bodied. Ok, not great.

Probably what I had, given it was a dunkel and the month of February. Medium brown. Has a mild, malty, slightly chocolatey aroma. Lightly nutty character. Authentic but not the most complex dunkel.

Bottle. Pale gold with an inch of white head. Aroma of hay and herbs. Light bodied with a slight creaminess. Taste has very mild, slightly honeyed sweetness and gently drying herbal bitterness. A good ordinary beer.

A pretty boring beer. A ok hoppy flavor but not much else in terms of flavor. Light yellow in color with a white head.
