Originally the Sailerbrauerei was mentioned in a document for the first time in 1544. After a long history 1967 is considered to be the decisive point in the history of the brewery. In that year the master brewer Gerd Borges and his then wife Gertrud, née. Sailer took over the management of the brewery and made the brewery a great success. After 36 years Borges decided to sell the enterprise. Since 2003 Sailerbräu and the brand Altenmünster Brauer Biere became through the Allgäuer Brauhaus part of the Radeberger Gruppe.

Bottle. Clear, golden beer with a nice, white head. Quite grainy nose, but there’s a distinct hoppyness as well. The flavor is grainy up front, but is soon followed by fruityness and bitterness. Medium body. It finishes wth some grains and a decent bitterness. I find the beer a bit grainy for my likings, but the spruce-like bittermess I like. (070803)

Some pale malt in aroma. Initial feel is quite creamy. Has quite low carbonation. Dry finish. This is an easy drinking, plain beer. The only negative being a slight metallic aftertaste.

Bottle: Poured an amber color with a thick lasting jello like white head. The aroma was that of sour malt and spice interlay. Bitter grassy spice malt flavor that left a dry acidic finish.
