Description

Originally the Sailerbrauerei was mentioned in a document for the first time in 1544. After a long history 1967 is considered to be the decisive point in the history of the brewery. In that year the master brewer Gerd Borges and his then wife Gertrud, née. Sailer took over the management of the brewery and made the brewery a great success. After 36 years Borges decided to sell the enterprise. Since 2003 Sailerbräu and the brand Altenmünster Brauer Biere became through the Allgäuer Brauhaus part of the Radeberger Gruppe.

Amber color, big head. Malty aroma, some wet cereals. Some malt flavor, light caramel, the bitterness appears too late. Reasonable beer, no emotions.

(Bottle 33 cl) Slightly hazy pilsener golden with almost no head. A very, very soft sweetish character and a somewhat flat and unclean palate. Wonder if this is oxidized or something, it appears odd. Not unpleasant as such, just very unusual. 210101

(swing top bottle) Pale yellow to golden colour with a medium foamy white head. Floeal hoppy aroma with green apples. Malty flavour and taste, turning into a dull hoppiness at the end, which is also not very long, but quite thin and watery.

Riecht etwas grasig. Bottle: Pale golden colour; big fluffy yellowish froth; sweet malty nose, kind of perfumed, hints of vanilla; surprisingly thin and watery in the mouth; all in all sweet and alcoholic; average bitter sweet aftertaste. Must not be heavily recommended......

Bottle at Julios Spring Beer Fest 4/02/05. Clear yellow, with very light orange-gold tint in the background, small amount of white head, rapidly dissipating. Aroma, as others have said, does not quite give away the thin, bland flavor on this, and gives notes of floral hops, light grains and a little bit of yeast. Very light bread notes as well. Flavor, though, is thin, watery and very bland. Not offensive, just very watered down and light. White bread, light almond and honey, a bit of paperiness on the end (cardboard), light body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
