Bottle at hotel. Decent bokbeer. Everything you expect in a bock is there. Sweet, malty, nice body.

Bottle @ hotel. Not really my kind of beer. Not bad but i just don’t really like it. Quite a lot of liquorice in smell and taste.

Bottle @ hotelroom. Decent pilsener, nothing great. Nothing crazy going on, just malts and grains. Nice thirst quencher.

21/11 0.75 l bottle, thanks Marko for sharing and Borresteijn who brought it to Split! It poured hazy light orange body with medium sized head. Yeasty, strange yoghurt and wheat (cloves) aroma, quite strong. Cloying flavor as well, sugary a bit with unclean and acidic notes. Medium to thinner in body, with longer finish that even showed a bit of metallic staleness. Quite fine beer, unfortunately a bit too thin with some unpleasant notes.

Bottled 750ml. -Courtesy of Marko, shared with him & heavy (thanks!) Cloudy golden/orange coloured, small to medium sized off-white head, dusty mild wheaty nose. Sweet malty, wheaty and fruity with notes of caramel and light alcohol. Unpleasant hint of metal in the finish. I’m not completely satisfied with this beer.

Croatian November ’11 RB tasting, courtesy of Borresteijn who brought it for me to Split this summer (thanks!). Misty tan-ochre body with a huge slightly off white head that went away slowly. Soft malty nose, dusty and lactic. Sweet malty fishy lactic taste, vague orange, very light alcohol, dunno, harmless, lacks fruitiness... Eh, if nothing, it’s really cool to try a Frisian beer!

(5.5%) Dark blond colour. Flavour is quite sweet at first but has an unpleasant dry and bitter finish.

Tap @ Utrechts bokbierfestival ’10 and ’11. Slight hazy beige to light brown color, short head. Aroma is very nutty, slight caramel, slight dusty. Bit sweet in taste, nutty again. Decent bok, but completely different from the heavy roasted and coffee-like former version. The brewer mentioned in a pm, they started doing the kilning of the malts themselves, which results in different malts used. I must admit, I preferred the old version of the Bok. This one is pretty ok, but I loved the roasty and coffee notes of the old one.
