Light to medium body with flavors of sweet malt and a touch of citrusy hops. The finish is malty with a short sweet aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

Sample at the brewpub. This beer pours a murky orange-yellow color with a thin white head that burns away to a film relatively fast. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of bubblegum and wheat. Light, clean body with flavors of banana, bubblegum and cloves. The finish is wheaty with a sweet banana aftertaste. Slightly above average Hefe overall.

Sample at the brewpub. The beer is a clear pale golden color with tiny rising bubbles and a medium foamy ivory white head that recedes slowly. Latticework lacing on the glass. Blueberries and sweet malt in the nose. Light body with mildly tart berry and malt flavors. The finish is short and fruity. Just your average straightforward fruit beer all around.

Firkin version at Barley’s 7th Annual Mini RAF (05/02/09): This brew is a hazy orange color with a medium thin off-white head that diminishes steadily. Stringy lacing. The aroma is hoppy, primarily of the Cascade persuasion. Notes of malt and citrus as well. Medium body with a moderately hoppy character with notes of citrus and toasted malt. The finish is hoppy with a moderately bitter aftertaste that lingers a bit. Toes the line between APA and IPA, and a pretty good beer either way.

Hand Bottled pours a clear medium amber witha small sandy colered head. Traces of lacing can be coaxed with a swirl but the hand bottling lost a bit of its activity. Big pine and a litteel soapy aroma with some sweet carmel malts. Flavor is strong pine hops with some perfumey sweetness. Flowery and resiny, not as citrusy as many others of the style. Long sharp bitter hoppy bite. A bit soft and a medium palatte. Not bad.

Cask version at Barley’s 5th Annual Mini RAF (04/28/07): A not-so-subtle jab at former Blue Jackets GM Doug MacLean. Orange color with a medium rocky light beige head that lasts awhile. Spotty lacing. Toasted malt aroma. Medium, smooth body with a sweet fruit and malt flavor. Lightly bitter hops are present as well. The finish is slick and sweet malt followed by a touch of hops. Slightly above average when it’s all said and done.
