Description
Seth Wood, our Brewmaster and co-owner, has over ten years of experience in making beer and perfecting his craft. The result is our farmhouse style beers- saisons, barrel aged ales, award-winning sour ales and lagers, all passionately crafted on site and in small batches. The beers are reminiscent of the Old Country- France, Belgium, Germany, and will make you think and feel of simpler times. Cheers!

Firkin at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. So much hop in the firkin it clogged the spigot for a bit. Pours hazy gold with a bubbly white head. Aroma is mild sour citrus. Med body. Flavor is delicious; mildly sour citrus, maybe some grass. Very fresh and tasty. Even seems a bit woody (firkin was aluminum). Really nice.

GABF 2013. Pours a light hazy yellow appearance with little head. Fucken huge stomach bile, lemon, garbage aroma. Flavor is only stomach bile. Obnoxious, sour, and acidic. Really bad. Didn’t know if I was the only one that hated this beer, but evidently womencantsail got a similar impression at GABF.

Sampled at GABF 2013. Pours thick hazy almost white yellow with a ring white head. Aroma is cheesy with notes of yogurt and citrus. Flavour is heavy acidic and funky. Light medium bodied with light carbonation. Bad example of the style.

Draught @ BBF13. Pours murky pale yellow with stable white head. Very cheesy and estery aroma. Sour flavour of yeast and cheese. Sour aftertaste. Quite different from other BWs I have tasted. More interesting than good.

Draught at BBF13 as ’Berliner Weisse’. Distinct cheese smell, parmesan. Horrible grey yellow colour. Big stable white head. The flavour is tart with some pineapple to begin with. Then comes the cheese. With a vengeance. An interesting beer, and also refreshing, but not one that I will be drinking much of.

Bottle at BBF13, thanks to Olav Vier. Rye bread flavour and mouthfeel. Not as spicy as some macro examples. Viscous. Has a good sour dough feel to it. Like liquid sour rye bread. I like it, mostly because of the mouthfeel, but the flavour is also very good.

Bottle at BBF13 thanks to Olav Vier. Good grassy hop aroma. Cloudy black colour. Good brown head. The flavour starts off quite roasted. Not too bitter, though. Has a good grassy and piney hop flavour. Late coffee note. Good.

Bottle @ BBF13. Pours murky amber with small off-white head. Clear aroma of dust, malt and vegetables. Salty flavour of veggies and malt with a touch of hops. Slightly sourish finish. OK.
