Average tan head over a black pour. I guess I’m against the grain on this one. A good solid but very unremarkable stout. Not much roast malt in either the aroma or flavor make this one a good one for those who don’t like a Guinness. Timid, some chalkiness in the palate, watery. Brewer’s description: "Extra Stout can convert even lite beer drinkers to Stout lovers." I couldn’t say it any better myself!

Bottled. Pale yellow-orange, some tiny yeast particles floating, small creamy white head. Bready, fruity aroma, not very strong. Quite standard APA - bready malty, a bit fruity. This is quite solid - good for session, but not much else.

Draft. Copper color with a nice off-white head. Citrus and caramel aroma. Citrus/caramel/slight hay flavor. Not as bitter as many IIPAs. Lingering bitterness, lots of caramel backing.

Cloudy, dark amber with a small tan head. Aroma is fruity with citrus and taste is hoppy with a grapefruit tang and a slighty bitter finish.

Draft. Reddish, dark-amber color with a nice off-white head. Sweet malt and orange aroma. Nice sweet malt and big orange and resin flavor. Full bodied. Hoppy barleywine - nothing too overwhelming, but somethign that can easily be sipped.

Cask. Clear glowing amber with a nice whitish head. Nice fruity hop aroma - definately amarillo. Fruity - mango/appricot flavor with good bittering and a bit of sweet malt backing. Easy to drink. Very good.

Deep dark stout with a nice dark moka head, which dissipates, no lacings. Nice vanilla chocolate aroma, and light coffee notes. In mouth, a nice chocolate malt with some metallic hops, and smoked peat notes, but not a lot of hops left as beer is 1.5 yr old. The body is thinner than expected, but nice residual burned coffee linger on. Bought at World Market, San Francisco, Summer 2004.

Hazy amber body, medium off-white head. Piney, earthy hops aroma with slight oxidation, backed by biscuity malts. Caramely, grassy, somewhat fruity body with an earthy finish. I’ve had this bottle for a few months, and the hops have mellowed out and there is slight oxidation. It’s still a decent beer, however. Thanks jah noth for the bygone trade!

Bottle. Mahogony brown color with a decent beige head. Roasted malt aroma. Malty flavor, with some underlying citrus hops. Clean finish.

Bottled. Hazy orange colour, white bubbly head. Hoppy orange in aroma. Orange at first, and then a hoppy kick in the flavour. Semibitter fruity flavour. Pleasant palate, but a bit too much and too sharp carbonation.
