The most "normal" of the three Tej Ethiopian-style meads I've had. That buckthorn sure is bitter. Been sipping on this for weeks.

A more palatable version of the last Tej. Clear, more aligned to a traditional mead but still not. The brewer grew up in Ethiopia and now she makes honey wine in Frankfurt. Pretty nift.

This Ethiopian honey wine (tej) is unlike anything I've tried. Tons of honey aroma but it's not at all sweet. The gesho (buckthorn) is extremely bitter, but overall it's quite citrusy, reminiscent of straight up orange peel. Very cloudy.

It has a deep blond color. Like the Premium, it has some honey aroma and elderflowers, the flavor too; this one is semi-dry, the alcohol is more evident, and there are traces of herbs. Simple.
