Aromas lean on the resin and are mild with a little citrus and a touch of MJ. Flavors are similar to nose with not a lot going on. Not bad but pretty much brand X.

355ml bottle. Jet black colour with small, frothy, fading, tan head. BA supported, roasty, chocolately, minimally spicy, dark malty and caramel malty aroma, notes of dark caramel, hints of burnt caramel, some Bourbon, oak, treacle, a touch of marzipan, whiffs of marmite. Taste is roasty, dark malty and sweet, caramel malty, slightly alcoholic and (ephemeral) tannic oaky, notes of caramel, dark caramel, a touch of burnt caramel, Bourbon, some treacle; slightly warming, alcoholic finish with minimally fruity aspects of cherry, bramble
Oily to viscous texture, smooth and soft, slightly cloying palate, medium to fine, mildly prickly carbonation.
Quite sweet, a tad boozy, not overly complex, some subtleties, though - OK.

Pint can crowler pours with a deep mahogany colored body that supports a thin tan head of foam. The aroma offers up plums, dates, molasses, thin rich deep slappin' malts flowing into soft spirit barrel goodness. The taste delivers smooth slick slippery sweet malts, brown sugar stewed plums, dates and then molasses like sweetness. Below the sweet dark fruity esters lurks integrated smooth barrel booze notes. This works really well and includes a bit of warming of the belly due to the large abv. This is right up my alley. Banger.
