Description
This dream began in 1996 when a Colombian with a passion for beer traveled to Atlanta (United States) in search of learning everything related to the world of craft beer. There he worked for six years at Sweet Water, one of the leading microbreweries in North America, which taught him everything necessary to create a high-quality artisan product.
In 2007 he returned to Colombia, where he wanted to share all his knowledge about the beer culture by founding a new and unique artisan brand: 3 Cordilleras.

3 Cordilleras opened its doors in 2008 in the city of Medellín, creating a series of 6 craft beers that today captivate the palates of all those who are willing to discover the territories of Colombia just by uncovering a beer.

In 2020 3 Cordilleras opens the doors to its second national brewery in Bogotá to continue conquering Colombians.

0,33l bottle at my place in Cartagena. BB 17.Jan 2020. black color, small tan head. smells bit smoky, earthy, light caramel, marzipan, some bitter chocolate. actually very nice smell. full body, soft carbonation. tastes lightly smoky, earthy, bitter chocolate, marzipan, nutty, light caramel, toffee, hints of coconut. finishes lightly dry with notes of bitter chocolate, toffee and some light coconut. wow, very nice one, very good to drink, good complexity yet very smooth and easy to drink, love the cocoa / bitter chocolate notes. for a stout it lacks some roastiness, but this didnt disappoint.

Ooh, not my thing. Pure fruit, almost cloying. No tartness whatsoever.

Straw and light hint of barley. Goes down cold and easy like this Colombian heat is killing me. Tap at Clocktower pub.

Weird powdered-fruit like beer. Tastes a little better than Redd but this is not a beer to put on your to-do list Colombia. Pours pink ok head and lacing. Finishes sweet and slightly astringent. Bottle.

More like a light English Strong ale. Has roast malt, booze and a touch of coffee. Similar to a brown ale as well, though not very hoppy. Pours clear mahogany with good head and lacing. Finishing with light sweetness. Bottle from store in Poblado, Medellin.

Best I’ve had from these guys so far. Lightly-hopped session pale ale with a little malt in aroma as well. This will be by go-to at the hostel in Medellin I think. Pours clear amber with ok head and lacing. Finishes bitter and sour. On tap at Casa Kiwi hostel in Medellin.
