Description

(Bottle 30 cl) Hazy, almost opaque dark amber with a bubbly, off-white head - sadly dissipating in two secs. Lightly fusty and somewhat acidic nose. The body isn’t overly full considering the alcohol. Accents of caramel, dry sherry and some spices. I believe I detect the added orange peel, but it might be just my imagination. Almost no bitterness but a heavy yeast sediment. 190206

Bottle, PRZH Winterbierfestival. Dark color, small head. Aroma of rye, some dried fruit like prune, bit alcoholic. Taste of roasted malt, some rye, bit fruity, raisin. It resembles for a bit the ’stout’ me and skortila tried to brew once, but that wasn’t really a success.

Dark color, very poor head, disappearing quickly. Malty and yeasty aroma. The body is too thin, no malt, light roasted malt, some yeast, some sugars, very light liquorice. A quite bad homebrew, malt extracts?

Golden hazy ale with rose, coriander aroma. Rather light bodied, but nice malt and rosewater. But this one lost its carbonation and life. May 1,2005 at 2nd KBC Festival, Den Bosch, NL.

Brown ale with a nice scotch wood cask aroma. No carbonation left. Rather plain sweet malt taste and light hops notes, but past its prime so difficult to judge this beer. May 1,2005 at 2nd KBC Festival, Den Bosch, NL.

Bottled (BBE 02/2006)
Dark ruby, small creamy tanned head. Dry, woody tobacco aroma. Medium to full bodied. Chocolaty, medium carbonated, not too sweet. Some licorice. Well-balanced suprise from Dutch microbrew.

Draught Fully hazy brown-amber; small rim of whitish head. Very little nose - bit of vanilla, old (!) wood, warm smell. Ends a bit as smoked eel nose. Very aromatic taste, bubblegum, higher alcohols, banana - classical esters. Ends like wood, or good bush flavours. Good body, slick but not sticky. OK. Less surprising than the blonde, but - well, better than OK. Amazing new brewery.

Draught Orange, hazy; small white head. Grainy nose with a pinch of citrus & wheat. Extremely nice gingerbread tase, with lots of citrus to counterbalance sweetness, dry without losing refreshing qualities. I seem to detect some mild cardemoms. Light MF, but nowhere watery, finishing quite dry. Very good beer, again a Dutch microbrewer with a lot of promess - for a just started brewery I call this impressive. The beer reminds me of some Belgian classical brews, without being able to pinpoint one specially.

An unclear mud-brown beer with a collapsing orange head. The aroma is sweet with primary notes of yeast, but also notes of caramel. The flavor is similar: sweet with loads of yeast, but also caramel, leading to a dry finish.
