Having watched his beloved Ipswich Town lose on a cold Tuesday night back in 2017, the idea of football beers came to mind, with the first beer name idea being “Boncho” after the 90’s Bulgarian player, Boncho Genchev. The idea of ordering a pint of Boncho was an idea that stuck and thus the quest to launch Away Days began.
Beers in the range are brewed across four different unknown breweries.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Appearance - dark orange to red and autumnal. Nice off white head. Nose - light molasses and light smoke. Taste - more molasses. Light liquorice and smoke. Palate - medium bodied, creamy texture. Dry crunchy finish. Overall - good beer.

Bottle shared with Ashton McCobb. Pours clear dark brown with a thin white head. Aromas of malt, earthy hops. Taste is crisp and clean, malt, toffee. Clean finish.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Appearance - golden with decent lacing. Nose - caramel biscuits. Taste - follows the nose. Palate - light bodied, lightly sweet. Overall - ok but a but single dimensional.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Appearance - golden with a generous fluffy head. Nose - hobnob biscuits. Dishcloth maybe. Taste - honey and more biscuits. Palate - light bodied and lightly crunchy in texture. Dry finish. Overall - a bit sweet for the style but decent.

23/11/2018. Cask at the Dove, Ipswich. Pours dark ruby brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, biscuit, chocolate. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness. Moderate body, soft to flat carbonation. Dry biscuity finish.
