Sample at GABF 10/07/2017, thanks to my bro for assistance with note-taking. Dark brown color with a medium beige head that recedes steadily. Sparse small patches of lace. Nutty and malty aroma. Light body with flavors of roasted malt, nuts and a bit of hops. The finish is sweet with a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.

Draft. Deep golden body with a frothy white head. Aroma of grapefruit, toasted grain, resin, floral hops, citrus. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Taste of pine, grapefruit, citrus, resin, light earthiness. Light huskiness in the finish, but nice, if not routine, ipa.

Sample at GABF 10/08/2016, thanks to my sis for assistance with note-taking. Dark brown color with some amber around the edges, and a thin light beige head that diminishes quickly. Sparse strings of lacing. Toffee, malt and chocolate aroma. Medium to full body with flavors of salted caramel and toffee, malt and chocolate. The finish is salty-sweet toffee and malt. Pretty good overall.

Sample at the Left Hand tap room. The beer is a murky amber-maroon color with a medium thin pinkish-white head that diminishes steadily to a wispy film. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of fruit, yeast and malt. Light to medium body with flavors of herbal yeast, tropical fruit and bready malt. Not really tasting what I would consider beets. The finish is peppery yeast and fruit. Above average overall.

On tap @ the brewery. Clear, dark orange appearance with a light brown head. Grassy, mild citrus, fairly herbal and caramel malty nose. Thin and boozy. Lots of orange citrus and caramel. Forgettable.

On tap @ the brewery. Fairly clear orange appearance with an off white head. The aroma has some orange citrus, pine, and pepper along with a weird twangy, doughy note. Goopy, highly sweet. Fairly boozy. Grapefruit, orange citrus, chemicals, fusel alcohol. Not great.
