Bottle, shared by friend. Dark brown color with medium beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, caramel. Taste, roasted malt, coffee, caramel. Not so sweet as other Czech Dunkels, good.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - golden orange with a head that doesn’t hang around too long. Nose - honey and biscuits, then a steely edge. Taste - yeah, metal, crystal malt and honey. Like a hobnob with a piece of metal in it. Palate - light to medium bodied, with a cloying texture and a finish that is mostly astringent. Overall - not my favourite from Czech Republic, that’s for sure.

330ml bottle from Premium Czech Beers online. Pours clear gold, short-lived head. Aromas of honey and metal. Taste is too sweet and has an alcohol burn. Not great.

Tap at Omama.Hazy yellow color with huge white head. Wheat, banana, yeast in aroma. Wheat, banana, yeast, clove in taste. OK beer.

Von einem tschechischen Dunklen erwarte ich mir einen ausgewogenen Geschmack und keine Bitterbombe und auch kein Zuckerwasser. Dieses Bier ist leider eine Mischung aus den beiden letzgenannten.

Das normale Helle von Herold ist ein wunderbarer Vertreter des klassischen tschechischen Lagerbiers. Es ist gut süffig und passt auch gut als Speisebegleitung.

Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks Tom L. Clear golden with a white head. Aroma of paper and light grassy hints. Sweetish papery flavor with a drier finish with light bitterness. Light-bodied.
