Almost black beer with a medium and beige head. Aroma is full of ryebreads and malts, slightly sour, nice roastiness and sweetness. Taste is moderate roasted, ryebread, sourness, some cholocate in the aftertaste; taste is nicely balanced with aroma. Medium bodied with smooth carbonation. Balanced, ryebready beer, nothing special, but still tastefull and easy enjoyable; good, black lager.

Bottle 33 cl, as Pivovar Herold, Bohemian wheat lager. Golden, hazy with almost no head. Aroma of wheat, banana, malt and some spices. Light bitter-sweet with a medium wheat ending.

500ml bottle. Pours gold with a large, frothy head. Aroma is buttered toast with grass underneath. Taste is grassy and buttery. Some toast, also. Slick mouthfeel.

Bottle from Alko in Pello, rating number 1300. Nothing special with this one, but is was it was refreshing in the hot Sauna. Malt, butter, hay and some notes of metal. Not that bitter.

A touch of citrus and a lot of great hoppy aftertaste that gives the urge to take it down in ravenous gulps. Probably my favourite hefeweizen to date and seeing as how i got ahold of a bottle in Vietnam, it’s a fresh breath of brew...

Sweet and bitter, but a bit watery. (This beer rating was imported from FB and unfortunately lacks any further comments.)

50 cl bottle. Rated on 27.8.2008
Aroma has roasted malt and hints of coffee too. Flavour has lots of malt but it is still not too sweet though. Some caramel and coffee do also appear. Good Schwarz!

Black with a beige head. Aroma is sweet malty, caramel, dark malts and sugar. Flavor is quite sweet and light bitter. Dry finish. I prefer my schwarzbier less sweet. 050711

50cl bottle. Pours golden-orange with steady bubbles and a nice head. The nose has hay and some herbiness. The taste has more pale malt with lemon and grass on the end. The palate shows just about medium-bodied structure and texture with a very refreshing finish. Overall, a good example of a Bohemian Pilsener.
