On tap at Berliner Bierfestival. Hazy, golden-orange body, with a white head. The nose is quite malty and a bit grainy, and there’s some sour notes as well. That doesn’t sound like an appetizing combination, but it was. The flavor follows the same path, with a wee sourness, sweetness from the malt, a bit grainy, and it also has a fruityness and citrusy note that I liked. Medium to full body. It finished sweet and sour with an obvious yeastiness. A nice and rustic brew. (070803)

Bottle: Pale golden coloured, lively carbonation, small, firm, rocky bleached head; grainy-citrousy nose, light bodied; light bitter-sweet flavour, underpinned by the lightest acidity; grainy, slightly citrus-fruity and bitter finish. Not really demanding, but a good thirst-quencher..........

(bottle) Hazy, orange-amber colour with a fluffy foamy, light off-white head. Dusty, slightly sweet, slightly acidic and tart aroma with light notes of honey and a fruity-yeasty tinge of oranges and grapefruit. Light-sweet flavour, slim bodied with a medium, slightly crispy carbonation. Yeasty, malt-accented taste with subtle fruity notes; quite slim, slightly yeasty-bitter finish. Not perfectly balanced.

(bottle) Clear, pale golden colour with a dense foamy white medium-sized head. Aroma of mainly herbal, slightly grassy hops on a light sweet malty background with a touch of citrus. Light-bitter flavour, light bodied with a refreshing, crispy carbonation. Soft grainy malty base with herbal hops in quite good balance; quite dry, grainy and moderately hop bitter finish. Not bad for the low abv and probably pretty thirst quenching on a hot summer day.

Bottle: Hazy, orangey coloured, quickly collapsing off-white head; grainy, yeasty and also "oaky" nose; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, crispy MF, light bodied; sweetish-grainy finish with a touch of hops and the faintest tinge of roasted or smoked (?) malt in the aftertaste. A quite spicy, decent Zwickel........

(33cl bottle) Clear, golden colour with a foamy white medium head. Sweet, weak malty aroma with cardboard. Moderately sweet flavour, light bodied, ok carbonation. Papery malty, one-dimensional taste, sweetish, very light bitter and short finish. Very bland.

(33cl bottle) Clear, pale golden colour with a foamy white medium head. Not overly sweet but ranky citrus lemonade aroma. Sweet flavour, watery body, moderate carbonation. Strong citrus-fruity taste with only little beer/malt-character; sweetish and slightly artificial finish.

Bottle: Moderate sweet-malty-grainy nose with a dash of aromatic, herbal hops; golden coloured, quite stable and lacing white head; light bodied and soft; moderate sweet-bitter flavour; lingering, bitter aromatic finish, all in all a sweet-malty base detectable. A pleasant, decent Pilsener, a little, little bit better rounded than the "normal" Sternquell Pils..........

Bottle: Golden coloured, medium-sized foamy head, a bit lacing; delicate sweet-malty, a bit grainy nose with a distinctive touch of aromatic hops; light bodied, soft MF, moderate bitter-sweet flavour on a very light, but detectable malty base; sweet-bitter finish with an illusion of aromatic hops. Astonishingly decent Pilsener...............

(33cl bottle) Clear, dark amber colour with a fluffy, slowly lacing off-white foamy head. Sweet toasted malt aroma with caramel and cacao. Moderately sweet and dark malty taste with toasted and herbal notes; dry-ish malty and slightly bitter finish. Somewhat charming but undemanding Dunkel.
