Can. Unclear dark golden to amber body with a big tan head. Aroma has malt, caramel, nuts and hint of toast. Flavor is smooth, sweet malt and caramel, light toast and smooth nutty confection with moderate but notable bitterness. Body feels balanced and aftertaste is long lasting. Probably not this kind of brown ale to suit the Christmas roast, but sure a nice little drink in front of the fireplace or maybe together with some Christmas cake. Its surprisingly bold for a 4,5% beer. Nice without overdoing the nutty/creamy/pastry thing.

Can @ the brewery. Clear amber body with a medium sized beige head. A bit weak but clean aroma of malt and bread. Flavor is medium sweet malt, light caramel, bread and low bitterness. Balanced body and average aftertaste. There is really not much going on here, but it’s a well made malt driven beer with balance and avoiding the sweet caramel taste that’s becoming very common for Norwegian Christmas beers. A calm and food friendly Christmas option that would play well along with the food without steeling the show.

Can. Slightly foggy, pale golden body with a big, stable, creamy white head. Nice, fresh and pleasant hoppy aroma with citric fruit, some pine, wheat, pale malt and spicy yeast. Flavor is smooth with mild malt flavor, refreshing fruity hops, some kind of spiciness, hint of pine and pleasant bitterness. I like the hoppy IPA style, it’s refreshing in combination with a light but distinct malt/wheat flavor and often a bit more distinct yeast flavor than regular IPA. When someone manage to achieve all this in a 4,5% beer I’m quite impressed. I did not get much of a Christmas feeling here, but what the heck – it made me happy.

Bottle. Hazy yellow body with a light white head. Aroma of grapefruit, pineapple, tangerine and lemon. Flavor is fruity like aroma and quite acidic, a bit like grapefruit juice actually. A hint of minerals and yogurt in aftertaste. In theory I would have guessed to prefer this one above Juicy Lucy as they have the same base and I normally would prefer the sour above the sweet, but it’s actually the opposite this time. The sweet version brings forth the refreshing fruitiness best IMO. Still nice but far from really great.

Bottle @ Håndverkeren, Kristiansand. Hazy pale golden body with a big, fading white head. Aroma is quite fruity with distinct lemon like lemonade. Flavor is very refreshing with citric fruit, hint of oranges and distinct lemon, rather acidic in a nice and refreshing way. Reminds me a lot of a drink with lemonade, but I can’t say I noticed any whisky in aroma or flavor. Light and easy drinkable, still feels very balanced in taste and body but within the sour part of fruitiness as expected. Aftertaste is sour fruity/lemon with a little hint of sweet citric fruit. Nice and refreshing with no sign of yogurt as some of these kettle sours tends to have.

Bottle in my garden a nice and hot summer evening. Clear dark brown, close to black body with a small beige head. Strong aroma of roasted dark malt, vanilla and Bourbon. Flavor starts quite smooth and soft with light roasted dark malt, coffee, vanilla, quite much Bourbon, wood and warming alcohol. Fine balanced body and long lasting aftertaste that becomes more intense with Bourbon and alcohol, almost boozy but in a fine way. A really nice one made for sipping, perhaps it would have won a bit with a slightly cooler serving temperature than regular summer garden. Still very nice and solid.

Bottle. Unclear golden body with a light white head. Aroma is acidic, fruity and minerals. Flavor is refreshing citric fruity, acidic lemon, minerals and tart. Medium body and nice aftertaste. Its quite similar to their classic Goose, but fruitier and slightly more tasty. Very nice.

Bottle. Unclear golden body with a foamy white head. Aroma has citric fruit and some fruity Belgium yeast with some pale malt. Flavor has some Saison elements with the typical yeast flavors, but some extra citric fruity hops and bitterness makes this a hoppy saison. Balanced body and fine aftertaste. A tasty and refreshing beer on the more hoppier side of Saison. Very nice.

Bottle from the Brewery. Slightly unclear golden body with a fine white head. Aroma is light, mild pale malt, general fruity and a bit lager style grainy. Flavor is light, nice and quite smooth with soft pale malt, light fruitiness, moderate bitterness. Well balanced body and soft aftertaste. No big deal really, but quite pleasant and well made at the lighter side of pale.

Superficial festival rating as Glory days at Duggfrisk 2017. Unclear golden body with a lacing white head. Not so much aroma really, pale malt and mild, slightly ripe fruit basically. Flavor is actually a lot more interesting considering this is a K?lsch/Cream ale, by the way no favorite of me either. Really soft, smooth pale malt, slightly spicy/floral yeast and a clean, rather sharp bitterness for the style. Medium body and average aftertaste. Not a beer to bring forward the WOW factor by me, but sure an interesting take on the style that almost confuses a bit at the first sip. Nice and easy.

Growler. Hazy milky yellow body, like orange juice with a medium sized white head. Strong aroma of passion fruit and oranges. Flavor is medium sweet, passion fruit and moderate acidic orange juice. Not particular sour but not really sweet either, quite balanced. Decent bitterness for the style with a certain kind of malty body. Perhaps not so much malt flavor really, but the body feels a bit more like beer than just fruit juice as many of this kind of beers tends to to. Rather long lasting aftertaste of the the same flavors as the rest and a pleasant bitterness. Not my favorite style of beer, but it’s super refreshing and have some more depth than most of this kind of beer I has tasted within the same alcohol strength.
