From tap at the brewpub. Pours almost clear and golden yellow with a one finger thick white head. Aroma is classic Ricklinger housecharacter: quite malty and somewhat brewmashy. Flavour is fresh hoppy with a distinct brewmashy base. Crisp and light fruity hops finish.

Aromatisch schokoladenmalziger Antrunk. Dies steigert sich im Mittelteil und ist überaus aromatisch, hintergründig leicht rauchig nach Schinken. Aromatisch süß malziger Abgang, hier etwas milder aber dennoch vollmundig. Sehr süffiges Porter! Danke an Jevers Zeuge! Test vom 14.8.2008, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 10,12,11,13,9,12 - 11,65

bottle, getauscht mit Jevers Zeuge - danke! Hazy brown colour with a small beige head. Lots of aromatic hops, the beer is definitely on the hoppy side, which makes it an interesting choice.

bottle, Dankeschön Jevers Zeuge! Hazy brown colour, medium-sized head. Malty nose. Quite hoppy in the flavour with a lovely combination of roasted malt and caramel with a shy hint of bitter chocolate. Rather bitter for a Stout, but still very nice and unusual.

bottle, Danke Jevers Zeuge! Slightly hazy pale yellow with a medium-sized head. Very hoppy aroma. Very hoppy flavours dominate the beer. Full-bodied, malty background and a good combination of an aromatic and a bitter hoppyness make it interesting and unusual. Quite bitter, even for Northern German standards. A good one!

bottle, traded with jeverszeuge. Hazy golden yellow, large white head. Full-bodied, malty with lots of aromatic hops. Quite hoppy for a Märzen, but in a very pleasant way. Hints of spices and herbs and a shy touch of honey is also detectable.

bottled, thank you jeverszeuge. Mahogany colour, hazy, large beige head. Aroma of malt and smoke. Slightly sour flavour with a smokey background. Pleasantly malty and hoppy with a touch of chocolate and cocoa powder. I am not sure whether the sourness is meant to be like that - otherwise it would be a really nice Smoked.

Bottled. Mahogany colour, rich airy head. Evident beechwood smokiness. Medium bodied and medium sweet with mild, soft buttery malt. Lightly fruity and ashy. Low-medium smoke intensity. Good without being fantastic.

Bottle. Frothy off-white mostly deminishing head. Light brown colour. Heavy malty and surprice: smoked aroma. Moderate bitter flavor. Not too smoke-dominated. Watery palate.
