(3/1/08) Sample from a bottle (I think FatPhil brought this one - thanks!) at the RB table at Zythos Bier Festival 2008 in Sint Niklaas. Dark brown color. Aroma of malt, caramel, a bit of toast and coffee notes. Malty sweet flavor with caramel and notes of coffee. A slightly watery finish. Medium body. Nice and enjoyable.

Bottled:
Dark brown (almost black) with a minimal head. Cocoa and toffee on the nose. Thick and smooth mouth feel. Slightly roasted flavour with notes of chocolate, coffee and black currants. The alcohol gives it a somewhat harsh finish.

300ml Bottle-Very dark brown, almost black in colour. Malty and rich aroma with grain, chocolate, coffee and a hint of liquorice. Quite watery at first but the taste has malt, coffee and liquorice with a light bitterness. Coffee is present in the aftertaste which is sour but not much.

Bottle: Slightly hazy, amber coloured, small, quite stable foamy layer; moderate caramelly, toasted-malty nose with a fruity tinge; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied; bready, a bit bitter and caramelly fruity finish. Not bad, tastes like a heavily diluted Bock........

(33cl bottle, courtesy of Papsoe) Slightly unclear, chestnut colour with a short off-white foamy head. Sweet toast-malty nose with caramel, shy notes of liquorice and faint traces of herbal hops. Moderately sweet flavour, medium bodied with a soft and well-matured carbonation. Solid toasty cara-malty taste with impressions of bread crusts in the background; moderately dry, malt-accented and slightly bitter and herbal hoppy finish. A decent Festbier/Märzen (19.03.08).

Bottle passed onto me by Fatphil at Zythos 08 Cheers Phil Pours a warm golden colour, as flat as a pancake hardly any carbonation at all which rather surprised me. Some sweet malts and alcohol, bit metallicy, reasonable hops and the bitterness struggling to counteract the sweetness. Not too bad.

Very dark brown beer with thin beige head. There are lot of sweet malts and some roasted malts in the aroma. Flavour is quite roasted and there are not anymore sweetness. Above all, flavour is quite dry. Carbonation is very low but it fitts nicely into this beer and palate is oily and nice. Body is little too thin. Overall impression: Påsk is balanced beer but it is too simple especially with flavour were should be something more interesting features.

330ml Bottle- Very dark brown in colour and almost black. Malty aroma with liquorice and aniseed. Rich, bitter taste with plain chocolate, coffee and some aniseed. The richness is not so noticeable after the first sip and it becomes quite smooth. Good quality and it has some porter leanings. The best Ålands beer I have had so far.

(33 cl bottle from Systembolaget) Labeled 6.8% ABV. Pitch black color, smallish brown head. CO2 feels low, even the hiss when the bottle was opened was low. Sweet and fruity scent with some alcohol as well. Also some chocolate and hints of roasted malt. Sweet, roasted and chocolate taste. Coffee and chocolate with roasted malt aftertaste. Medium to smooth mouthfeel that I feel could have used some more co2. Low to medium low bitterness.
