Tap @ Vine Street Pub, Denver. Pours pitch black with a staying light brown head. Aroma of sweet malts, dark chocolate, sweet dark fruits, plum. Taste is sweet malty, lots of chocolate, caramel, oat, port and bourbon, notes of licorice. Medium to full body, soft carbonation, light alcoholic finish. Very nice. 240212

Tap @ Vine Street Pub. This was the highlight of the night for me after following this baby with four more of their stouts. Black appearance with a tan head. Roasty, chocolate malty, mild espresso, slightly oaty aroma and the flavor was a lot of the same with a super flavorful, rich oaty, roasty chocolate malty flavor. It is a touch sweet but I think the roastiness rounded off that pretty well. In general, I’m not a huge Oatmeal Stout fan but this is simply a delicious beast. Excellent brew and highly recommended.

Tap @ Vine Street Pub. Black appearance with a tan head and good lacing. Moderately organic/earthy hoppy, rich dark chocolate malty aroma. Overall, the beer went down pretty smoothly with a piney/earthy hoppy element along with a roasted chocolate malty, mild vanilla, very light espresso flavor. Not a bad offering but not as good as Addiction or Oatimus Prime.

Tap @ Vine Street Pub. Black appearance with a light brown head. Mild cherry/fruity, rich chocolate, light vanilla aroma. Decent carbonation and pretty good lacing. Somewhat spicy (which was interesting), mild cherry, milk chocolate flavor. At first, this one just tasted like another gimmick stout from Mountain Sun, but I polished off the pint off in ten minutes and it seemingly got better. Maybe it had to do with the beer warming up (Note to Vine Street: DO NOT serve your stouts ice cold!)

Tap @ Vine Street Pub. Black appearance with a cream colored head and pretty good lacing. Milky, creamy, mild milk chocolate, light vanilla, very light citrusy aroma. The orange/citrus fruity element is more pronounced in the flavor but still not that prevalent and that’s probably a good thing. Besides the orange fruitiness, there’s a moderate creamy, milky, milk chocolate flavor. Definitely not offensive in any way but it just seemed like a dumb idea to begin with.

Tap @ Vine Street. Cloudy, maroon appearance with a tan head. Soapy, floral hoppy aroma. The flavor is a lot of the same. Soapy, floral hoppy, moderate fruity, somewhat boozy flavor. There is not a ton going on in my mind and I’ve waited for this thing to warm up.

Nitro at Vine Street - very subtle and quaffable for the abv - very soft notes of milk chocolate in the nose - light and creamy - a gentle bitterness, but mostly moderately sweet milk chocolate flavor, with a light acidity and fruitiness on the tail end - okay.

Tap at Vine Street - nice all around balance on this one - creamy and medium bodied - medium sweet - mellow but complex notes of vanilla, chocolate, toasted coconut, a light nutty character, even a touch of woodiness - lingering finish of cream and toasted coconut - very enjoyable.
