Bottle at Perch Brewhouse. Near black pour, filmy beige head with rings. Sweet aroma, licorice, cola. Taste is cola, root beer, anise, sweet and tangy, some roast malts showing up way in the back. Interesting and not what you'd expect from a stout

Bottle: Very black stout from the African Continent with the famous Irish Harp. Not so dry as the original standard but with more chocolate taste and there is also sour fruitiness.

Hatalmas, tartós, drapp szín, fekete szín. Kávés, csokis, aszalt szilvás illat. Kávés, aszalt szilvás, pirítós kenyeres ízek. Közepesen testes, közepesen szénsavas és keserű. Kissé zavaró a pörkölt jelleg.

Unexpectedly spicy with licorice notes. Dried plum as well. The expected culprits, like chocolate or other dark malt flavors, remain to be imagined. Quite tart, quite bitter. Chaotic.

Bottle, tasted side by side with Guinness Special Export (Belgian version). Color: Both black, stable light brown head. Aroma: Both roasted malt, milk chocolate. A little more roasted aroma at the Belgian version. Taste of the Nigerian version: Sweetish, I think typical Sorghum flavor (never tasted this, but it's definitely different from grain, more corn-like), roasted malt and milk chocolate notes, sweetish roasted malt finish. Taste of the Irish / Belgian version again has more flavor. Some more milk chocolate and roasted malt, grainy hints , floral hop backbone and a longer lasting roasted and bit hoppy finish. Both versions have a smooth mouthfeel, as we know from Guinness Stouts. I definitely prefer the Irish / Belgian Special Export version. Don't like the Nigerian version very much. Nice to have the change to taste both Guinness version together. Final Verdict: Nigerian version: 5 3 6 3 11 = 2.8 Drinkable, but nothing more. Irish / Belgian version: 7 3 7 3 13 = 3.3 Ok overall, but no need to try again.
