Huge, dark brown-greige head, pretty stable over black beer, viscously pouring. End of bottle solid yeast. Ink, C-hops, straw or silodust, chocolate, suggesting melanoidins. Very bitter black coffee, ashes, tobacco, bitter pure chocolate. Very roasted in any case, alcohol and even fusels obvious. Again dry UK or USA hops, if less easily recognisable than in the nose. Very thick, viscous and oily; mild alcoholburn, utterly full-bodied; creamy texture. Quite good R.I.S., they could deliver in St. Petersburg! Na Zd’ravie, Peter!

Slowly building tan head, over fully hazy cola-coloured beer. Nutty, spicy notes, lightly curry-like spices, tad bready, dark malts and liquorice. Very complex, vinous taste, with bitter hops, old wood, fusels à gogo, dark chocolate; and again a spicy surrounding, difficult to say which ones - juniperberry being definitely a possibility. Not really full-bodied, but very slick, viscous and lots of alcoholheat. Layered, long-lasting flavours into the aftertaste. Impressive to discover such a beer from Slovakia. Definitely one for the annals, and one to search for! Many, many thanks to Peter V. and his helpers!

Small, but reasonably stable light-beige head over practically black beer. End of bottle solid yeast. Chocolate, with distinct praliné aroma, then relieved by very inviting noble hops. Coffeeish, even ashy flavours mixed with more chocolate (black & milk). Mildly roasted witha pinch of lactose. Not very well-bodied, feels well-carbonated and moderately slick. This is pretty good, and goes well beyond your ordinary Dunkel. Many thanks to Peter V., and all the people he mobilized to get the beers to Ursel!

Ultra-thin off-white head, over hazy amber-brown beer with a mossy sheen. Bottom of bottle solid yeast. Grassy, yeasty notes at first, with dark or wholemeal bread, fainly sweetish; autumn leaves, ivy; all of those moderate. Nice dry-ish , leafy, yeasty, bready and even nutty notes, with mild sweetness in the finish, that does not prevent a reather dry aftertaste. Rather thinnish, missing body. Carbonation proves more marked in the mouth than in the visual; slight (yeast?) slickness. Quite regular, convincing Märzen, quite German in character. Small white head, fed by lively carbonated pale yellow-golden beer. Dry, spicy nose, giving a soft-bitterish impression. Some pale malts in the background. Dry-bitterish, spicy (if short-lived) flavour, pimented with a bit of citrus(peel). Not very outspoken, but rather nice. I would have expected at least a bit more peppery flavour from the ginger. Originally very carbonated, but it levels down, leaving some CO² pique (maybe a bit of ginger after all) on a fast flattening beer, MF- and tastewise. Again, really not bad, but it can’t keep up the effort. Many thanks to Peter V., and all the people he mobilized to get the beer in Ursel!

No head; lazily carbonated metallic golden beer. Sweet, malty nose, with a touch of caramel, even toffeearoma. Malt, caramel, CO², touch of corn, but also mineral water, and, above all, virtually no restsweetness, resulting in a quite desalterating, fresh drink; utterly light, of course, but pleasing; Even hoppiness in the background. Warming up, there’s a light cigarette-ash smokiness, that doesn’t spoil anything! Surprisingly balanced; beats most comparable English pasteurised bottled bitters hands down. No head to speak of; veiled orange-ochre beer. Very flowery, even fruity nose, but with a marked sweet undertone (caramel?), and distinct touch of almonds. Hoppy-sweet, with even more outspoken (bitter)almonds flavour, as marzipan, made from bitter almonds, subsequently liquidized and watered down. Touch of citruszeste. Quite light body, certainly for a 6% beer (which would be considered strong ale in the UK!). Watery and spritzy, despite little visual carbonation. Not really bad, just a tad too watery, and a bit too much of this weird almond flavouring (yeast?). Many thanks to Peter V., and all the people he mobilized to get the beers in Ursel!!

On tap at Piritos Bar, Budapest. Dark amber coloured, medium sized pinkish head, pretty neutral nose. Malty, fruity and light metallic with pleasant chilli burn in the throat. Dry and light chilli finish. Not so strong and easy drinkable beer.

On tap at Piritos Bar, Budapest. Slight hazy dark golden coloured, small white head, malty nose without any trace of alcohol. Sweet malty, light fruity and slightly caramel with tiny touch of alcohol in the finish. All in all good.
