Bottled. Hazy orangeish golden colour with a mediumsized white head. Aroma is fruity, some floral notes, mild bready and caramelly maltiness. Flavour is a bit bready maltiness, and also has some floral and herbal notes to it. Quite watery feeling, with not too much bitterness.

Dark brown color. Tobacco leaves, coffee and slight nutty nose. Med full bodied. Very malty good mouth feel, but doesn’t deliver the depth of Hobson’s Mild. Decent straight forward brown ale.

Cask at the Wellington - Birmingham. Pours deep brown with a creamy beige head. Dirty roasted malts in the aroma. Light sweet flavor with dominant bitter cocoa and moderate earthy bitterness. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Bitter roasted malts to finish with earth and baking cocoa. Fair.

Bottle from Stirchley Wines. Poured a light hazy amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is crisp yeasty and with a little mint. The flavour is medium bitter, yeasty and with a little liqourice on the smooth refreshing palate. I liked this beer, but its no ESB as it suggests here!

Hand-pulled pint in the excellent Cock Hotel, Wellington, Shropshire with my Dad on 27th July 2013. Light golden with a thinning white crown. Hop and mixed grain nose, the hops being floral and peppery in nature. Taste was also mixed grains with floral and spicy hop notes: the beer got more dry and bitter with each mouthful, or that’s how it came across to me. OK and thirst quenching: wouldn’t want to drink it all night though.
