Description
When Phil Bennett began planning for the Beowulf Brewing Company in 1996 there was no brewing going on in Birmingham. The original site of the brewery was in Yardley, where independent beer production started in the city in 1997. Beowulf began in a disused ex Co-op shop. Our original “signature” beer, Heroes Bitter, is still popular and sits at the head of an capacious list of regular and occasional beers. Now on the shore of Chasewater near Brownhills, Staffordshire the brewery is awash with Regional and National awards. Beowulf’s dark beers attract particular praise, devotion and accolades. The brewery celebrated its first twenty years last year and in 2018 we will finally get it together to have a beautiful website… turns out the internet is not a flash in the pan! Please come back and see it. All our cask and bottled beers will be listed along with some other interesting stuff.

Nice fruity beer with good fruitiness also present on the nose touch sweet maybe but mid bitterness helps to balance this out. A7 A5 T7 P3 Ov13 3.5

Bottle from a London shop. Pours dark brown with a creamy tan head. Aroma is mostly chocolate, though there seems to be a hint of smoke. Flavor is chocolate with some fruit. A little dark malt. A little chalky. Tastes a bit like a mild. Ok. Just read the description. I guess it must taste a lot like a mild.

On tap, pours light amber. Aroma and flavour of bitter hops, balanced by English caramel malts and woody characteristics. Not terrible.
