Golden-amber colour. Aroma has off-phenols. Rich brown sugary character with butter and nuts. That would make a good dessert, but as a barley wine, it’s a little odd. Warming finish. Long, tasty finish.

Tan colour, very cloudy. The aroma is fun - leathery, phenolic, quite spicy. Fairly tart body, a little funky. Spicy, yeasty, a tiny bit gueuzy.

Basically black colour with dark brown thick natural head. Roasty, nutty, rich aroma with dark chocolate hints and sweet dark malts. Rich palate and full body. By the numbers stout with roast barley & nutty notes draped over a bitter hop and sweet chocolate backdrop. Well-made. Ramping up the body without getting fruity and imperial works well for stouts.

On tap at the Tangletown location. Intended as an Australian-style sparkling ale, but they threw way too many dark malts in the mash for that. What is it? Light amber in colour, and hazy. The aroma has some pear esters and a hint of malt. The flavour is lightly toasty, with some husky astrigency (the sparkling ale thing to me demands a refined malt like Maris Otter, preferably decoction-mashed for extra melanoidins and I’d be pretty surprised if that is what happened here). A little bit limited in terms of esters. I’m tending to agree with the Aussie contingent, too, about the shittiness of PoR. But I’d love for the brewers to lighten this us, get funky with the yeast, and give this another go because it would be cool as hell.

Cloudy amber colour. Citric, breadcrusty, only vaguely herbal aroma. Balanced flavour though admittedly not very heathery. Quite toasty, a little honeyish, with light fruity notes and brown sugar. Sweetish, slightly earthy finish.

Amber-brown colour. Toffeeish, earthy aroma. Quite chewy with great dark malt flavours. Full body. Enough bitterness to carry the beer but not so much as to obstruct. Quality example of a style seldom done with inspiration.

Hazy orange body, medium clumping cream head. Piney, citrusy hops aroma with grapefruit and melon. Hoppy, citrusy, fruity flavor, somewhat bready, with grassy and piney hops settling into a caramely malt finish. Somewhat like a bitter iced tea. Chewy and nicely balanced. Thanks to Bück Dich for this! Pours a clear golden color with a sticky tall white head. Grapefruit hop aroma with some yeasty bread dough. A good full on medium body delivers a slightlu bitter brew with a good malt balance to it. The bitter finish takes a long time to fade. Good IPA.

Bottle Pours a hazy peach/amber color with a small off white head and thin but even lacing. Aromas are fruity and swet for hops and quite soft and calm. Flavors are hops that again have a warm fruity and nutty flavor. Some grapefruit peel and bread notes as well. Feel is moderate and the aftertaste is quite bitter. Not my favorite but pretty good.

Bottle Pours a slightly hazy medium amber with a huge frothy off-white head, very thick coarse lacing. Aroma is sweet, malty and hoppy. Citrus rind is very apparent. Flavors are consistant with citrus, malt and lots of hops. Like an IPA to me. Feel is a bit thin and the aftertaste is a steady hops bite.
