Description
Elysian Brewing Company operates three locations of which Elysian Capitol Hill is the main brewery and a full production brewery – Elysian Airport Way, in the Georgetown neighborhood (since 2011). Known both for classic styles and for flexibility and innovation, Elysian has brewed over 500 different recipes since opening in 1996. While Elysian’s brewers use a variety of unusual ingredients, they are seasonally notorious for their pumpkin beers. In 2015 Elysian joined AB InBevs' family of craft brands.

Can. Unclear pale yellow-golden color with white head. Aroma is piney, citrus, a bit white sugar. Taste is the same, quite grassy, a bit sticky. Oily mouthfeel with sparkly carbonation. I don't get the Haze part, but it's an okay, not a great IPA.

Pour looks like lemonaide with a large white head. Aroma is some generic grain malt with a citrus hop. Flavor is more citrus with some coconut showing up. This was ok. Decent citrus hop and that coconut came out of nowhere.

Can. Pours a near clear light straw yellow with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has dry citrus with a hint of mango and melon supporting. Flavor has dry citrus and light citrus rind with a growing honey dew note.

OK, another 12 ounce sock of IPA. Slight aroma of mah fah butyl rubber perfume, LOL. Hazy or not, can draft or bottle, they all taste the same; super spreader bitter: WTF? Its s'posed to be hazy but its clear pale as a bell. Stupid ass; if its hazy, make it hazy, just don't try to sell me some filtered bitter bastard beer as hazy: I don't care if it simply settled in the shelf sales cycle or not. Even if I swish around the dregs in the bottom of the can, its still clear, WTH? Well, at least its 6%, the same level alky as most cheap pale lagers. I simply just do not get this beer nor its style. Big fricken hairy thigh deal, its bitter and its a fad. Enjoy-ability factor? Easy to come by, since its available in thirteen different sub styles across the gahzillion IPA united states out there. Is bitter enjoyable? I guess you gottah be real man or woman or binary to appreciate, that. Keystone got it right, forget about bitter beer. Hops are a preservative and don't you forget it. In case you didn't get it already, you guessed it; I'm not impressed. At least in the finish you still got some semblance of co2.
