Description
In May 1867, the Leinenkugel family brewery was founded in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin by Jacob Leinenkugel. He was a family man driven by an iron work ethic, and he knew that his German family heritage would play an integral part of his brewery’s success. Today, the sixth generation of Leinenkugels continues to brew some of the same family-inspired recipes that Jacob poured his heart and soul into. Over the years, our family has grown and so has our brewery, but our history and heritage remain at the forefront.

Bottle. A- Caramel, malty, toast. A- Red brown color, clear liquid, tan head. T- Toasted caramel, malty. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, malty finish. O- Shocked by how much I enjoyed this considering it’s an Amber Lager from Leinenkugel. Very easy to drink and balanced. Nice blend of bitterness and maltiness and full of toasted caramel notes. Not bad at all.

Kibble, cashew, and caramel nose. Hazy copper, medium yellow head. Kibble, dried leaves, tree bark. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Rather like a hoppy dunkelbock, a neat idea in theory that may attract a cult following, but not for me or most people.

Pours a copper from a bottle, thin white head with some lacing. Aroma of toffee and toast, flavor similar, rather sweet, no bitterness to speak of. Not a lot going on, kind of plain. Meh.

Bottle. A- Sour, lemon, corn. A- Pale yellow color, clear liquid, white head. T- Grains, slightly tart, sour, wheat, corn, crackers. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, bland finish. O- This would be a great starter beer into the world of sours for someone who only drinks macros. It tastes like a soured up Budweiser. I appreciate Leinenkugels for claiming it’s a Berliner Weisse inspired beer because it’s certainly not quite true to the style. Nice sourness to it but otherwise a pretty bland lager as the base.
