Aroma has licorice and some roasted malt. Sweetish flavor, also with licorice and roasted malt and peach. Bitter, fruity, somewhat oaky finish. Maybe a bit thin.

Honey color, just a bit hazy. Just hints of honey and citrus in the aroma. Malty flavor with orange and just a bit of hops. Thin to medium bodied. Nice session beer, nothing more, nothing less.

Best until jan ’05. Creamy citrusaroma and flavor. Hoppy, in fact an almost oily hoppiness. Long citric hopbitter finish. Very well balaced beer. Excellent!

Bottle, brewed for the Open Day 13 june 2004, gift from the brewer. Named Schans Dubbel. The ABV is the same, so I guess it’s this beer. Very dark brown color, small but persisting creamy head. Chocolate and Mon Chéri cherry bonbon aroma and flavor. Roasted malt. Alcohol. Thinnish probably because of the everpresent alcohol. Chocolate and alcohol aftertaste, almost like Tia Maria. A taste bomb!!

Aroma has malt, pepper and a hint of cherry. The flavor has a peppery hopbitterness, but is also abundant with fruit (peach and cherry) Fairly alcoholic and a bit sharp, but a well made tripel. A worthy example of the style.

Dark brown color. Cinnamon, apple and chocolate aroma and flavor. A slight tartness is developing, but still in a very early stage. Thin to medium bodied. Chocolate aftertaste. Well made, tasty beer.

Grainy (rye), somewhat bready, earthy aroma with a hint of lychee. Bitter flavor with lychee and pear. Powdery mouthfeel. Slightly medecinal. Tasty and rather powerful for its modest ABV. Interesting beer.

Bottle. Orange brown color, cloudy. Sweet, sugary flavor with orange and hints of licorice. Some roasted malt in the background, revealing itself in the aftertaste. I’d prefer the 2004 version any time above this one.

Dark brown color. Cloudy, no head. Brown sugar, caramel, pear and cinnamon in the aroma and flavor. Sweet, almost no carbon. Full bodied, malty. I would love to have this beer as an ungespundetes straight from the wooden cask. Now it is not complete.
