Intensiver malziger Antrunk, Himbeere, minimal röstig. Leicht alkoholisch, holzig, Vanille, sehr hohe Viskosität. Intensiv malziger Abgang, vielleicht einen Hauch zu süß. Ansonsten erheblich besser als die Bourbon Version. 11/12/10/11/11/11

Bottle ordered from Brew Cavern, Nottingham. Aroma is rich - nutty dark fruit cake - with s boozy Bourbon edge. Dark and glossy - like blackgaze on vinyl (note: this is bullshit). Foamy tan head disappears like a virgin at a Black Mass. Flava is again rich. Fruity and doughy. Nutty. Dark chocolate. The barrel aging is less imposing than the aroma suggested but there is a boozy bite. As I drink more it somehow gets sweeter and boozier (presumably there's a basic explanation but I'm slouched on the sofa with the button on my jeans undone to reduce the pressure on my gut so I can't be bothered to think about it). Medium-heavy bodied. Oily. Average carbonation. Long slightly astringent finish. Long aftertaste. Enjoyable but a sipper.
