Ruby color. Roasty, malty aroma. Malty, bit caramelly taste. Bittersweet finish. Decent brew, but not worth such a percentile or score.

Had this one at the wonderful Buca di Beppo here in Columbus. It was so nice to have an Italian beer that actually tasted good to go with some family-style Italian food. Dark copper color with a medium pizza-dough colored aroma (why not). Strong malt with slight alcohol aroma. The flavor was extremely malty, even for a Doppelbock. As such, it was a hearty beer that complemented my hearty food very nicely.

Bright gold with good sized but artificial looking head. Somewhat sour aroma with a litle herbal/spicy hop character. Medium bodied sweetness and a balanced palate. Fairly clean - light bitter finish. light but strange sourness eventually comes through in the finish. A bit too light and off to be a good lager, but OK.
