Bottle @ Torben Mathews tasting. Nice head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are roast malt, wood, little alcohol, chocolate and has a nice roasty finish.

Appearance: Cloudy deep brown with a moderate ivory-coloured frothy head of medium retention. Aroma: Caramel & toast, esters, light nail polish, dates and figs, cocoa. Taste: Light to medium sweet. Rich malts. Dates, figs, dried pears. Cocoa. Distant nail polish. A little hop. Warming alcohol. Low to light bitterness. Mouth feel: Medium body. Average carbonation. Summary: Pretty alright.

Appearance: Cloudy chestnut brown with a small ivory-coloured ead of low retention. Aroma: esters delivering prunes, nail polish, higher spirits. Toast, caramel, brown bread. Taste: Medium sweet, malty, estery. Toast, bread, caramel, prunes, dried pears, nail polish, warming alcohol. A hint of hop. Low to light bitterness. Mouth feel: Full body, soft carbonation. Overall: Pretty pleasant. Good slow sipper. No real quad complexity. Not much Belgian yeast character.

Appearance: Opaque deep brown to black with a one finger tall beige head of decent retention. Aroma: Roasted barley, cocoa, esters, distant coconut, brandy. Taste: Light to medium sweet, roasted, cocoa, coconut, brandy, berry esters. Low bitterness. Mouth feel: medium to full body, soft carbonation. Overall: not an elite impy. Just ok.
