Im Mittelteil ist dieses Bier leicht hopfig herb, der Nachgeschmack ist weniger herb und wässrig. Geht runter wie Wasser. Ganz in Ordnung, kann mich über dieses Bier nicht beklagen, vielleicht ein wenig zu durchschnittlich. Test vom 8.1.2005, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 8,6,12,5,9,9 - 8,30

Im Mittelteil ist dieses Bier leicht hopfig herb, der Nachgeschmack ist weniger herb und wässrig. Geht runter wie Wasser. Ganz in Ordnung, kann mich über dieses Bier nicht beklagen, vielleicht ein wenig zu durchschnittlich. Beim Export meine ich ein wenig mehr Aroma und einen etwas intensiveren Nachgeschmack festmachen zu können. Test vom 8.1.2005, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 7,9,12,8,9,9 - 9,10

Of all the things to find in Laos - my first Egyptian beer with alcohol in it! Yellow colour. Faintly grassy aroma with a hint of lime-pear fruitiness. Heavy, slightly oily body for style. Sweet finish. All-malt, but the maltiness is not clean and fresh. The hops area also like a dull thud on the palate.

A pale yellow beer with a white head. The aroma is sweet grassy while the flavor is malty with a dry hoppy finish, but the body is thin.

A clear yellow beer with no head. The aroma is sour malty (brewing cereal?) with notes of caramel and alcohol - the alcohol in the nose is surprising in such a light beer. The flavor is of hay, caramel, and malt. It is a boring pilsener. It was a lot better in Luxor 4 years ago in 40 degrees Centigrade - or is that just a lapse of memory? But it still brings back memories. Thanks to Alex (fiulijn) for giving me this one.

Light blond color. The aroma has a too strong corn-paper character. Nothing special, but the light maltiness and the correct bitterness profile make of this a regular refreshener.

Clear amber. Head white-transparant, nearly immediately gone. Disparate bubbling. Nose of alcohol, grain, sugar, oxydised. Bitter flavour, hoppy, perfumed, on top of caramel malt. Not bad, but it tastes more top-fermenting than lager. Retronasal more bitterness, less agreable, long lasting. Rather well-bodied. Fizzy despite little carbonation. Bitterness at tongsides keeps going on in the aftertaste. Egyptian beer - well, they were amongst the first in history. Yet I expected the worst. It's definitely better than that.
