My first Birell was from Switzerland but I didn’t have any real notes on it, so this re-rate is based on a can from Al-Ahram of Egypt, purchased at my local halal meat shop. The colour is light gold, kind of dull, and there is not much head. The aroma has a lightly toasted malt character with a hint of bread, along with somewhat pee-like hops and distinct brussel sprout. The body is kind of watery, the flavour like hollowed-out grain husks with a hint of rooty hop. My first notes simply said "There are worse" and that’s true, but this is no prize.
