Description
The Brauhaus Gusswerk is an innovative symbiosis of a beer bar and a brewery, a place for enjoyment, communication and cosiness. The initiator of this unique project is Salzburg's Reinhold Barta, passionate brewer. After more than ten years of organic brewing experience he realized his organic brewery in Salzburg's “Gusswerk” in 2007. Reinhold Barta's goal is to make sustainable and biodynamic beer in Austria socially acceptable. When he saw the plans of the "Gusswerk", he immediately knew: "This is where my brewery belongs." The beer should be drawn from the strength of its origin, of course with purely organic ingredients and old, natural manufacturing processes that reflect the circle of nature.

330ml bottle. Minimally cloudy, dark copper colour with average to huge, firm, frothy to creamy, moderately lacing, beige head. Caramel malty aroma, a touch of cocoa. Taste is dry dark malty, has a touch of dark fruit, hints of dark chocolate, thin dry hoppy finish. Not really light, but not particularly strong either. Has nothing to do with any other IPA known to me.

Aww, I didn’t get to be the first to rate it. Punishment enough for not bothering to enter my backlog :(. Ogi’s, from Austria. When you pay a ton of money for a n/a you know you’re a RB addict. Again, thank you Ogi! Poured a murky yellow body, nice enough, with a small white head. Yeasty worty nose, somewhat appley, weak hops too. The taste is nicely well-rounded mild sweet taste, again appley but in a good way. Soft. Hey, I don’t mind this!

(bottle, 33cl) Hazy, copper to deep amber colour with a medium-sized tanned foamy head. Bready toast-malty aroma with caramel, peppery spice and delicately fruity hoppy notes. Bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied with a calm carbonation. Hearty toasted malt character with notes of bread crusts, caramel on a delicately fruity hoppy background; bitter-sweet toasty malty finish with a rising hops profile towards the aftertaste, containing mildly fruity and spicy notes. Heavily malty IPA, reminding me more of a dark Bock, nevertheless a likeable brew. 20.X.12
