Ja, in Liechtenstein gibt es auch ein Brauhaus. Und das macht nicht einmal schlechtes Bier. Das Dunkle ist ein Vertreter der süßen Spezies und hat mit Porter und Co. wenig am Hut. Dass es dem Schweizer Geschmack nahekommt, ist wenig verwunderlich. Es könnte zwar reicher an Aromen sein, aber die Malzsüße ist gut komponiert. Ein gutes Bier.

Dieses Bier wurde für heiße Sommertage gebraut und dementsprechend geschmacks- und alkoholarm. EIn bisschen Hopfen hätte nicht geschadet. Der kühlt auch die Kehle.

ChrisOs Christmas Tasting. Clear pale gold beer. Tidy white head. Very light palate. Light pale malt, a little dry. Little bit of citrus. A bit too much with the papery dryness but not terrible by any means.

I am trying to drink around the world: so when I came to the Liechtenstein tourist area at the 2012 International Green Week in Berlin I wandered over to the lady and asked if she had any beers to sell. Sadly she didn’t, but on discovering I’d actaully visited her country many years ago she offered me a free half bottle (500ml size) of Krona to try. She explained they hadn’t paid for a selling licence but could give away alcohol if they wished too. The beer is very pale, golden but straw light in colour, the head being your regular lager snow white and thin. Very little smell, some hops hanging around but not much of anything really. Taste was soft, sweet for a lager, but otherwise a bit boring: to be fair there was a mild hop bitterness in the background but I found the beer uninteresting and just another tick on my cruise around the globe. I thanked the kind lady and saw her again the following day: we smiled but didn’t speak.

Clear dark amber with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and nutty. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter. Dry and light bitter finish. 180312

Dies ist wohl ein gut süffiges Bier, aber irgendwie fehlt etwas; seien es die hopfigen Spitzen oder ein voller malziger Körper. Es ischt schwer zu sagen, aber dies ist nicht mein Favorit.

Wenn man ein Weißbier denkt, so kommt man wohl nicht gleich auf Liechtenstein. Aber dieses Bier kann wirklich überzeugen: Schöne fruchtige Aromen und alles was ein Weißbier braucht. Nur etwas vollmundiger könnte es sein.

Bottle @ Døe meeting. Pours slightly hazy lightgolden with a fading white head. Aroma of wheat, yeast, banana, sweets. Taste is wheat, yeast, banana, sugar. Thin body, lively carbonation. 150212
