32oz crowler from Rieker Beer Works in Lancaster, pours an oily, translucent cola brown with some cloudy grey head. Nose has malt, raisin, cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg, some black pepper. Ancho is big in the flavor, cinnamon too, cocoa, malt, licorice. Everything works well. Body is perfect and the pepper heat hides the alcohol. 8 3 8 5 16

Sampled from a bottle this beer poured a red-brown color with a small foamy tan head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was malty and toasty with a bit of toffee. The flavor was tart cherry, toasty malts and gingerbread. Medium length finish. Medium body.

Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured an amber color with a small off white head that left no lacing. The aroma was tart and dry with grapefruit and lemon. The flavor was tart and astringent with a harsh alcohol bite, grapefruit, lemon and ginger. Very long finish. Medium body.

The aroma was grainy with sour mash, faint grass and light fruity hops. The flavor was sour mash, a bit of graininess and a hint of fruity hops. Medium length finish. Medium body. Decent for what it is.

Draft at Interstate. Pale golden, kind of hazy. Grainy aroma, floral. Mildly fruity. Taste brings some bitterness, more fruity, floral notes, coriander. Not quite coming together.
