Deep red-purple. Thin head. Deep vinous nose, threatening me with butyric acid though. On the palate, big happy juicy, the grapeyist of the ones I’ve sampled here. Lots of oak and tannins in the finish. Reminds me a bit of Wild Ambition’s A Suggestion of Dark Places in that it takes wine-beer hybrid and pushes how far in the wine direction you can go.

Pale salmon colour with some haze. Thick head. Nice brett nose, lots of tannins, mellow vinous notes. Barrel up front, the grapey sweetness rolls through, bretty notes, light barrel. Slight stickiness.

Medium purple and relatively bright, not much head. Big cab franc, juicy grapes, light tannins, mellow brett, touch of wood. Characterful… solid vine beer.

On tap at Aslan Depot, pours a clear dark amber brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out gentle bourbon barrels, sweet toasted malt, and some seltzery notes. Flavour is not all that pleasant, with cheap corn, subdued bourbon, and toasted malt. The bourbon is subdued, coming across like corn. The flavours just aren't nice. Weak and flimsy palate. Not a fan.

Bottle from Tavour. Pours clear gold with a moderate white head. Aroma of zest, coriander, pepper (not chilies). Med body or so. The oak is very pronounced. A bit sour, a bit astringent. Otherwise as the aroma. The pepper persists in a light way. Nice.

500ml bottle from Tavour. Orange golden pour, a few bubbles then flat. Aroma is orange peel, savory notes, pepper, coriander. Taste starts with a mild pucker, citrus, spices, orange peel lingers. Definitely some smoothness from the oak, minor woody essence. Nice body.

Draft pour to a tulip enjoyed at Sovereign Brewing. Clean copper color pour. Obvious cherry tinted. Clean white foam head. Tons of cherry here. Cherry pie from the start. Refreshing taste. Aroma agrees. Touches of funk. The cherry really takes center stage with this brew, although it is designed to. Must love cherries, which who doesn't? Very nice one here.

Draft pour to a tulip during my first visit to Sovereign Brewing. Awesome! Dark cherry red pour, thick appearance, thin head. A completely new menu for me, but this beer was the obvious first choice for me for an introduction. Intense sour red fruit, with a refreshing aspect as well. Tons of oak character. Subtle hints of red wine highlight this. Perfect execution of black currant in a beyond sour brew. Tart berry finish, slightly dry with oak. This brew is everything I love about sour beer. I've seen enough!
