Draft: Lemongrass, straw nose. Pale yellow, thin head. Straw, lemongrass, grass. Light, easy carbonation. Great transitions, solid.

Draft sample at Dominion Wine & Beer. Slightly hazy golden orange with off-white head. Aromas of citrus, malt, floral notes. Tastes of citrus, malt, stone fruit, floral notes. Medium body with a dry finish.

Sampled on draft at Amber Ox this beer poured a black color with a medium sized foamy dark brown head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was bacon fat, malt and bread crust. The flavor was bitterish with anise, malt, red meat and a touch of wood smoke. Very long finish. Thick, full and smooth body.

Sampled on draft at Amber Ox this beer poured a red-brown color with a medium sized foamy tan head that left minimal lacing. The aroma was toasty malts, cocoa, a hint of coffee and nut. The flavor was toasty and woody with mixed nuts, dark fruit, cocoa and coffee. Very long finish. Moderately full bodied.

Sampled on draft at Amber Ox this beer poured a bright golden color with a large foamy off white head that left excellent lacing. The aroma was jasmine, yeast, mustiness and ginger powder. The flavor was sweet and tangy with jasmine, ginger powder, lime, yeast and a warming booziness that worked well. Very long finish. Full body.

Sampled on draft at Amber Ox this beer poured a nut brown color with an orange hue and a large foamy tan head that left good lacing. The aroma was tobacco, wood, malt and a hint of dark fruit. The flavor was bitterish with notes of bread crust, raisin, fig and molasses. Long finish. Medium body.

4 oz pour on draft at ChurchKey. Black with tan head. Aromas of vanilla, herbs, sage, chocolate. Tastes of vanilla, herbs, sage, dark chocolate, light booze. Full body with a dry finish. The sage and vanilla seem like the strongest of the adjuncts.

Draught @ Churchkey, Washington DC. Pours black with a small brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, wood, light spice, cinnamon, vanilla. Flavor is sweet, light spicy, wood, vanilla, light cinnamon, little alcohol. Medium body, soft to average carbonation, sweet and light spicy finish. 250418

Roast and plenty of booze. Oatmeal and some wafer cookie type aroma like the girl guides just rolled by. Black pour with ok head and lacing. Bittersweet. Tap at Red Apron.
