Description
At Bitburger, the pure pleasure of Pilsner-style beer has a long family tradition. Since the founding of our brewery in 1817, we have dedicated ourselves fully to the quality and taste of our products. Today, seven generations and almost 200 years later, Bitburger is still in family hands – but the small business of two centuries ago has become one of the biggest breweries in Germany, and the number one player in the draught beer market. We owe the success of our company first and foremost to our employees, who bring real passion to their work for the company. For us, a sense of social responsibility is simply part of what we do. Bitburger also supports many charitable and community projects, and promotes cultural and sporting events.

Draught in Germany
Just to confirm that, as for mass produced Lagers, Germany (Bitburger) and Belgium (Stella Artois) brew some better product than Holland, Denmark, Australia ones…

Bottle: Poured a reddish dark brown with a medium off white head. Aroma is lemon with a stail cola hint. The taste continues with that cola/lemon not very appealing.

[on tap at the Red Lion, Southwold] A decent size, long-lasting head. Initially lemony, then strong herbal and cut grass flavours, becoming a little dry and sour in the aftertaste. Refreshing, not a bad lager, but there’s nothing here to distinguish it from other central European brews of this genre.

Bottled. My first ever neon yellow beer with a thin screaming yellow head - probably looks good at a disquoteque. The arom ais sweet with citurs and some weird fruit notes, the latter much be the Cachaca added. The flavor is artificially sweet with artificial fruit notes.

Can. Pale yellow with a white head. Sweet aroma of hay, lemon and grass and a slight hiint of vegetable (corn). Some floral notes. The flavor is lightly to moderately sweet and lightly bitter evoking tastes of honey and green grass and grain. Dry, bitter finish. The medium body has a slightly sticky texture. Lively carbonation. Not as crisp and clean as I expected. Still, a nice German pilsner.

Bottle. Artificial lemon aroma dominates - only a hint of cola and beer. Medium brown with moderate head. Generic cola, artificial lemon and stale beer flavor. The second drink from Bitburger attempting to mix beer and a cocktail - this one doesn’t really work - supposed to be like a Cuba Libre but tastes more like a radler - don’t get any rum flavor at all.
