Description
At Bitburger, the pure pleasure of Pilsner-style beer has a long family tradition. Since the founding of our brewery in 1817, we have dedicated ourselves fully to the quality and taste of our products. Today, seven generations and almost 200 years later, Bitburger is still in family hands – but the small business of two centuries ago has become one of the biggest breweries in Germany, and the number one player in the draught beer market. We owe the success of our company first and foremost to our employees, who bring real passion to their work for the company. For us, a sense of social responsibility is simply part of what we do. Bitburger also supports many charitable and community projects, and promotes cultural and sporting events.

12 oz. bottle. Nice, clean, grassy hop aroma with just a tinge of fruity grape. Golden color with a white head that rapidly filmed. Rather thin bodied, with moderate carbonation. The flavor is sweet malt with some bitter. A slight astringency. The finish is dry, and there is some bitter to enjoy. If lagers were all there were, this would be one of the better beers. Thank God for ales.

Can. Pours clear gold with a white head. Aroma is sweet malt and hop. Nice flavor, sweet malt and hops. My swimming pool bans glass and this is a popular option for canned beer in the summer.

Half-liter can. I’ll admit to kind of liking this one. Smell is pretty distinct German beer with a nose of BITTErness. Light golden color, a few bubbles, under a fluffy head. Taste is mainly BITterness of German hops, keeping the malts from inflicting any sweetness on the mix. Keeps the final result slightly dry, a little filling, with a lingering hop aftertaste. Good to have around in summer weather. Revision, Jul 28, 08: Ticking this one up because I’ve been moving to a new house, and my beer cellar with it. I’ve dived into the rest of the canned Bitburgers (each can consumed is a pound less to carry) and found them better in the heat of the summer. Hops get more pronounced, especially if it gets warmer, indeed, very refreshing and not as filling as I wrote previously. Even after how long in the store and a year in my fridge, a good beer in cans stays good.

Süßer, minimal getreidiger Antrunk. Mit der Zeit flacht die Süße ab und ein bitteres Aroma zeichnet sich ab, ist zum Ende hin sogar eher als unpassend zu bezeichnen. Dazwischen wässrig. Test vom 2.5.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,5,6,4,7,5 - 5,50

This Pilsner poured a clear light yellow colour with a nice frothy white head. To the nose, very boring. Sweet malt and a little corn. First sip was sweet but not too bad. finish was a little hoppy with a little bitterness. Palate was still sweet with lingering bitterness.
