Keg at the Beer Merchants Tap - Hackney. Pours clear orange-gold with a tight, creamy white head. The nose holds semi-ripe citrus, orange rind, pine, pale grains. Light-medium sweet flavour with more ripened citrus fruits, rindy bitterness, hay, orange, bitter pine, pale bread, booze. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Lightly warming finish, somewhat resinous, lightly faded pine, more rind, full citrus character. Maybe it's a little faded or something, but this is nothing special.

Hardly balanced with a lot of overpowering carbonation. Got better once the yeast was poured in, but feels too strong. Thanks Nikos!

BOTTLE shared with mcberko - thanks! Pitch black. Well, strait on whisky barrel, no rough edges, smooth, with balanced roasty malț and hops, just the right amount of barrel character. World class.

330mL bottle, courtesy of rouhlas (thanks Nikos!), pours jet black with a small tan head. Aroma is very complex, with the JD barrels showcasing well the barrels, with a touch of cocoa and wood. Flavour is along the same lines, with rather cheap-tasting JD barrels upfront, with light roast. I'm not hugely convinced by the JD. It's certainly solid, but not the elite beer that Greeks think it is.

330mL bottle, courtesy of rouhlas (thanks Nikos!), pours a cloudy opaque bright orange amber with a medium off-white head. Aroma brings out a herbal and resinous hop character, a trace of diacetyl, with a chewy caramel malt backbone. Flavour is along the same lines, with a chewy caramel malt structure upfront, giving way to resinous and herbal hops, and maybe a tiny hint of diacetyl. Very malt-forward, with a bit of an improper balance of hops. I'm not convinced that this is the great beer the overall rating suggests it is.

330mL bottle, courtesy of rouhlas (thanks Nikos!), pours a cloudy bright orange with a medium white head - looks beautiful. Aroma is loaded with citra hops, i.e. loads of pine, some resins, and lots of citrus. Flavour is just lovely, with an assertive blast of citrus and piney hops upfront, with a hint of a floral character, and a crisp biscuity malt base. Pleasantly bitter and structured expertly. Excellent beer.

Bottle at Beer Time, pours an opaque cloudy golden orange with a medium white head. Aroma brings out a nice fragrant Belgian saison yeast, with some toasted grains and biscuity malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with a very nice Belgian saison yeast character upfront, with some graininess and cereal malt. High carbonation that is totally fitting. An unusually well-brewed non-wild saison from outside of Belgian. Excellent.
