Bottle, courtesy of DerA through Toni Fl�kiger, many thanks! Pours darkest brown with a slightly beige head. Aroma is chocolate, maple syrup, dust, a bit of pepper, coffee. Body is heavy, sweet, strong, roasted, burnt, and with a clear and super harmonic maple syrup. Not sticky at all! Great balance. And adjunct impy stout of 5 years which held up beautifully. Great beer!

At a tasting, many thanks, big gushing light mocha head, murky brown color, aroma of toasted bread and light charred wood. flavor of wax and chocolate, slightly bitter, lively carbonation. Not too interesting or exciting.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Tom L's place. Thanks Stas & Max. Opens with a gusher. Black, big soapy off-white head. Roast, some licorice, coffee, yeast, ash, sweetish, bitter finish, medium-bodied, lively carbonation.

Trockener fruchtiger Start mit hellen Malznoten. Steigende Süße von geringem Level aus, bitter, die Fruchtigkeit sinkt und verschwindet fast gänzlich. Hopfig-wässriges Ende, weich, langer Nachhall. 8/10/8/7/11/8

Draft @ CBFZ 2017. Pours almost black with a beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee. Taste follows nose with vanilla, ash, smoky notes. Excellent.

Shared bottle. Hazy pale gold, white head. Aroma of citrus, tropical fruit, caramel notes. Taste is citrus, tropical fruit, and caramel, but also has some stale cereal and an unidentified off-putting taste.

At Wortspiele #4. Pours cloudy pale amber. Aroma is like tea gone b...eer. Medium body, still like an umami green tea, kombucha. Silky texture. Lingering sweet palate. Unusual but quite good.
